landrover598
Right then you experts. i may be about to convert over to plamsa for the first time , what size would you recomend for my vehicle and winch (100" Defender, GEW 9000)
BogMonster
When I got some from David Bowyer, looking at the "published" strengths I thought 9mm would be plenty but he recommended 10mm for both my Milemarker (10500lb pull) and a couple of bits that were going on XD9000i's so I guess I would have to say 10mm. Hybrid_From_Hell
Yep 10mm will give you a "Safety" factor, withouit being daft and OTT, just knock off approx 10 - 12% from whatever the amount of rope 8mm would have been in length. Phil Gordon at PG winches also good point of call for it Plasma 12 still has my vote for a good piece of kit Nige
landrover598
Great, i may be able to get my hands on a ahort supply of plasma cheap i'm trying to find out what size it is, so if it's 10mm or more, it's good

roguevogue
I can supply Marlow Dynaline, like Sc*rpion Racing sell, with a hook fitted for £1/ft for 10mm and £1.25/ft for 12mm.
BogMonster
Life size picture eh? That's a very good price, when/if I need any more I'll be after some from you how much do Scrap Iron sell it for? my Dyneema (10mm) ex DB was quite a bit more than that even with the modest discount for buying 3 bits! roguevogue
Yeah, sorry about the picture, not really got my mind in gear. Don't know what Sc*orpion want for it but it seems to be about £1.50/ft for 10mm most places.
BogMonster
That was about what my Dyneema cost I think, maybe a bit less (not sure exactly as freight etc was on top of that so it cost about £170 for 90ft & an oversize swivelly hook, landed here)
landrover598
That is a very good price, but i'm only changing over to plasma if i can get this stuff cheap If not, then when i've got some money in a few months time, maybe i'll treat myself to some.
