JonB
Are Puma, specifically a 130, wheels stud spacing etc the same as other landrovers? Just bought a set for 5 of ebay & thought i had better check! (i know the studs might need replacing with longer ones on my 110 to accommodate the hd wheels, but, is this true?) Jon. western
Exactly the same as the XD/Wolf military steel wheels & mine, you do not need to change any studs.
Happyoldgit
Yes Puma's are the same.
JonB
Have wheels, fitted ok but ... the studs are a little short. looks like 20 of FRC7577 are required. I Guess its because its a 2.5td vintage 110 with drum rear axle, looks like the later axles have the longer studs as standard. Hopefully the slightly short studs wont cause any problems in the short term (used only on road at the minute) Jon.
Bowie69
How much short? If the studs are flush or very slightly lower than the surface of the wheel nuts, there is no problem, this is how 99% of Land Rovers run with Modular/8-Spoke wheels fitted. A picture posted here would allow people to be sure in saying 'yarp' or 'narp'

JonB
From my parts manual front axle wheel studs, FRC6137 - cant find a length measurement from google search FRC7577 (Wheel Stud - 60mm) pic as is looks now ... http://i1111.photobu...nett/front1.jpg http://i1111.photobu...rnett/back2.jpg http://i1111.photobu...rnett/back1.jpg http://i1111.photobu...nett/front2.jpg I know there is a lot of debate about this, however it looks wrong on the vehicle, unless the wheel nuts are shorter now? Jon.
landroversforever
There is a certain amount of thread needed for a nut to work, and with the shorter studs there is more than enough . I have Wolf/130 rims on my older truck, all fine

Jon. wheel nut depth is the same for all 110/130's your photo's look exactly like my 110 [photo above] 110 including 200Tdi with rear drums use FRC6137 in all four hubs 110 from late 200Tdi with rear disc brakes use FRC5926 which as I've said previously are the same overall & thread length as the earlier FRC6137. the reason is down to the combined thickness of the rear drum & XD/Wolf wheel. a 300tdi wheel nuts with these XD/Wolf wheels fited looks the same as our front wheel nuts. JonB
Well i guess i don't need to change to FRC7577, that's good especially as there so much more expensive than the std studs + the time fitting them. Thanks for all the information on this much debated subject Jon.
western
3 more thread within the tech archive/this forum http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=19338 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=29959 http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=34407&view=&hl=ruf000020&fromsearch=1 there are less expensive longer studs available, the links/reference to these in the links above.
