Out of interest, does anybody know the purpose of these holes I've outlined in the rear crossmember body mountings on a 90.

Its a Richards chassis, been in touch with them and they dont know, just said they are on the original drawings they work from. Not got them on my original chassis ?

Never seen them before.

They're for the Military "Lifting/Towing Ring" (Land Rover's description) NRC4853, that fits to the rear crossmember, inside the Bumperettes -

more common on military Series LR.s 90/110 had the 'JATE' rings on the chassis.

All of 'our' brand-new 1987 contract (KE/KF) 90/110's had them fitted, as well as JATE Rings.

Land Rover were still fitting NRC4853 to early 'Defender' badged vehicles (KJ registered), even though they had the later style of bumperette (RRC5409/RRC5410) which incorporates the Lifting/Lashing eyes -
