I think Hammerite is pretty rubbish these days. It used to be good before it was made 'eco-friendly'

Hammerite used to contain powdered glass someone told me

But the formula was messed about with so it wouldnt kill baby kaolas or the like!

Ideally yes, depending on your location you might be able to hire a small compressor from a local tool hire company.

Airless might be good if you could get one of the now ancient Burgess airless spray guns they had a longish injector probe that would be useful.

There are lots of airless sprayers available that would do the outer face of the chassis with suitably thinned treatment etc.

I want to use anything like Waxoyl, but here in Colombia all that anti-rust products are kind of illegal (due to cocaine-production chemicals), so I have to look for any alternative. I found a recipe for homemade anti-rust that sounds logical for me (Candle, White Spirit and parafin oil) and I want to use it both in the outside and inside. Have somebody used it? I suppose that's a mess for any apply, but I'm really getting off ideas, so this is my only alternative at the moment.

Just a note of caution:

As I understand it Paraffin is Hygroscopic – which means it absorbs water – which means it is less than ideal as a rust proofing agent.

While not wanting to Hi-Jack this thread – any comments on the use of the professionals who advertise Waxoyl treatments in the Land-Rover magazine would be helpful – they seem breathtakingly expensive – but in the long term so is having 5 Land-Rover products rusting away on the drive!

Veteran members of this and other forums can attest that this subject can sometimes lead to somewhat long winded, heated and at times irrational debate. My strong advice is to avoid the possibility of opening up another can of worms here but rather spend a little time doing bit of googling company names.
