detroit locker

hi all

just brought a new truck to challenge in, but not got much challenge experince, currently got a detroit locker in the rear, can't decide weather it's more of a help or hinderence, anybody else got one in there truck or got any views of it staying in or to get rid of it

I like them very much, very simple in operation and little to go wrong. Keep an open eye on reliability, the later generation ones have got a habit of packing up, Mine was bought in 2003 and still works well without problems (touch wood).

even less sure now, as at it's trial at mud monsters, as i didn't get to give it a good try as it smashed both half shalfs on the first punch. but mrs' turn to give it a go at her challenge on the 15th may !!!!! god help me

Hi al,

Sorry to nick your thread, but where in UK do you can get spares?

On Mainland Europe nobody seems to get them.

Need a centre part 24 spl. and a dog clutch, cause its broken after two years of light (ab)use......:(

Hi Roel,

I have exactly the same problem but parts seem impossible to get, it seems like it would be easier and cheaper get a new locker. Don't know if I would go detroit again though for that reason.
