Smokydiesel
Hi, Has anyone bought a canvas hood from Paddocks ? Was wondering if it fits OK and what the quality is like..... Thank you !! Edwin
ludylandy
I bought mine around 5 years ago and am perfectly happy with it - good fit and a good heavyweight canvas. A friend bought one around 6 months after me and it was completely different. Terrible fit and the canvas was really flimsy. If they still chop and change suppliers that quickly the only way to know is to get one and send it back if it's carp.
edwardatherton
I bought one many years ago. The fit was awful and I would never buy one from them again. Havnig said that, the supplier is likely to be different now...?
Smokydiesel
Thanks so far ! I've just had an email from Paddocks: the cannot disclose the suppliers name but guarantee a good quality......
greenmeanie
At the risk of being pedantic, what is the wording of that guarantee? Good quality is entirely dependent on perception of the individual unless it is defined in a spec.
mickeyw
I too bought an 88" full tilt from Paddocks years ago. IIRC it cost c. £140 Quality of material and constrution was excellent, the fit however was a bit of a let down. The brass fittings were all good quality hardware, and well positioned. But the hood seemed to be a tad short in it's sides when dry. When wet it always became a tighter fit in the hood sticks and even harder to make it fit well. I can't imagine the current offerings being as good
