zim
Evening, I wish to go and buy a trailer later this week, second hand off a person. But i've had 2 stolen in the past, so know how easy they are to go missing. Who can you phone with a chassis number to check that it isn't stolen prior to making a deal ? The cops ? Thanks Gordon

mickeyw
manufacturer would be a good starting point. Yep, Ifor Williams keep records of trailers' chassis numbers and their owners. They also keep a record of all their customers' units that have been nicked.
BogMonster
I seem to remember seeing something somewhere that all new trailers now are meant to be registered with something called The Equipment Register so may be worth checking that out too?
