Anderzander
Hello! I want to see if I can have a fastener or two turned and would welcome suggestions on its feasibility and who might do such a small bit of work without charging a fortune ... I'd like to use an M16 shouldered bolt, cut the thread off so around 20mm of shoulder remains, and then bore and tap the shaft so that it will screw over an M10 stud. This is so I can use a s3 engine rubber on my S1 drivers side engine mount by just enlargeing the hole. The chassis bracket is 25mm thick and the longest stud (on an engine rubber) that I've found is also 25mm. Any thoughts please?
simonr
I'd be happy to do it if you mail me the bolt with a drawing and an SAE to return it. Si
LandyManLuke
Sounds like a plan. Just a small point, do you mean shoulder or shank? Are you refering to the part of the bolt between the thread and the head that isn't threaded?

Si Si that's fantastic :-) Thank you very much. I'll drop you a pm. Luke, I was referring to the part of the bolt between the thread and the head that isn't threaded...
