Vented Disc brakes?

Pete Attryde

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am thinking of upgrading the front brakes on my 1996 300TDi disco from the existing non-vented type to vented ones and as such will need to change the calipers, so as per the title what models or model years were fitted with vented discs as standard so that i can source some second hand calipers.

Cheers,

Pete.

:i-m_so_happy: There's a pair of vented front calipers on ebay here

EPC list this VIN range from FA393361 to WA799999 it doesn't split this range into vented/non-vented front brakes, disc part number is FTC902 [same as 90/110 vented disc]

hth :i-m_so_happy:

Mine definately has a single line set up although all the brakets for dual line are there.

Let me check, but I think that I may have a pair of single circuit calipers for vented discs 'in stock' :)

Might be a bit far to post them tho', they are heavy :o

i 'think' 200s have dual line brakes, 300s have single lines.

i know my 200 disco has dual lines & my mates 300 has single lines.

If you were to buy a caliper for vented disks [RTC6776] for the disco from say Paddocks (thats what I did), then one for solid disks you'd find that the vented disk caliper has two connections for the dual pipes, RTC6776 seems to be applicable for all pre and post 1995 models up until the MK2.
