mcc1979ian
ok so iv got all the wiring connected for the 200 tdi (disco engine) but it dont seem to wanna crank, iv got second stage power as i can get the wipers to run (slowly) have checked the battery and both yellow and red optimas are both around 6 to 6 1/2 volts so was thinkin o attching the jumper pack to see if this mite work. Have had the charger plugged in for 3 days to the red optima but instead of charging its lost 0.1 volts. does anyone know if there mite be a reason for them not charging with the trickle charger? is there anything stupidly obvious i could have missed with the wiring? do i just plain and simply have a flat battery? simonr
Sounds like just a flat battery. Try removing the starter battery and leaving it over night connected to a proper battery charger, not a trickle charger. If in the morning it still reads less than 12v with the charger disconnected, the battery is damaged. Take it so someone with a battery tester (Halfords) to check. ejparrott
If the wipers are turning very slowly, and you've only got 6.5 volts at the batteris, it looks like the batteries are toast.
vulcan bomber
Very flat and i would think very knackard batteries at 6 volts.

western
they might recover from the low charge state, a Ctek charger with a recondition selection on it would help one of these or a similar unit http://www.ctek.nu/gb/en/chargers
