mcc1979ian
Looking at overhauling the v8 before i fit it to the 90, new lifters, cam, gaskets, water pump, timing gear, maybe even piston rings but iv never rebuilt any engine before never mind the V8 im pretty handy with the tools and not afraid to give it a go my question is has anyone used the landrover V8 overhaul manual before and would they recommend it for what i want to do? Quagmire
I rebuilt my 3.5 using it- very useful. Copies in PDF are all over the place.

mickeyw
Take a laptop (or generic tablet device stuck to the door/wall ) to the garage with you, no more grubby finger marks on the pages.

CwazyWabbit
It's easier to clean a laptop than a book
mickeyw
Just wipe the finger prints off. The reason I suggested a tablet is the touch screen is easier to clean
mikec
Which book are you talking about? There's two on amazon one all green and the other which looks more modern?
Fatboy
The manual is good for the basic overhaul but does not give many tips on assessment of the components as you tear it down.. To cover assessment and learn top tips on the rebuild (like rocker shimming), I'd also thoroughly read Bullbar Cowboys and Nige's threads.
