Big.Mike
I'm trying to work out which Master and Slave clutch cylinders I need. I intend on changing them both at the same time (Two stoned birds or something) Also where would you get them from & which brand (other than originals). I have a 1996 (R reg) 300tdi Defender 110 CSW. landroversforever
Get a decent branded one (can't think of the OEM one off the top of my head). Having done my slave and had to change the master shortly after I would now always change together
Retroanaconda
I've used TRW ones in the past, which I've had from Paddocks and local independent Land Rover specialists. Local motor factors should also be able to supply. Can't recall the part numbers off the top of my head but I don't think they changed from Series III until maybe the Td5 era? The master cylinders didn't anyhow.

Big.Mike
As ever, cheers for the details Ralph! With regards the seals on the cylinders. I've read on the forum (somewhere?) that you can swap the seal with a similar size unit from a toyota. Is this true, has anyone done it? (I don't suppose anyone has the part number?) Guest
They are really not expensive, I would just change them both I swapped mine with TRW ones as James suggested the quality is really good and the castings are sound, you can certainly see the difference between them and the cheaper ones. I brought mine from ebay and they were actually cheaper than the blue box ones from on-line retailers. Jason.
Big.Mike
never heard of that seal swap. Ralph, This is the quote I found about the Toyota seals: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=77217 I've asked the question at the bottom, it would be great if we can find a better part! western
Hmm, would be interseting to find out the seal part numbers, personally I haven't had any problem with clutch seals, my current cylinders were resealed with Lucas seal kits at the last clutch change, been fine so far.
