White/Purple wire from fuel sender ... what does it do?

Mean Green

Recommended Posts

Can someone identify what the white/purple wire coming from my fuel sender does?

I have 4 wires - 2 x black, 1 x Black/Green and 1 x White/Purple

The Haynes manual refers to the Black/green but not too the White?

The "new" sender that I removed from another 200tdi Discovery seems to be a newer type with a 2 pin econoseal connector rather than a 3 pin round connector. How can I make the new sender work?

Thanks guys.

Got it sussed.. BUT.. (there is always a but!) the connections on the fuel lines are so badly corroded they are not going to split easily and I do not have the time to start changing fuel lines at the moment. So I think it is another job to add to the "to do" list :)
