bill comer
I have just noticed that the RAC now have a restriction on age of 5 years. For anything over that there is a surcharge. Now my defender is 11 years old & was OK last year so they must have just changed this. Just wondering who you are using this year. Not an issue for us this year as the little thing is staying at home but next year we were planning on going to Austria.
task
I'm going to Romania next month via France, Germany, Austria and Hungary. Using ADAC as advised by people on here and other forums, pretty good cover for the price too, there's an English speaking telephone number too. bill comer
excellent task, So I take it they have no issues with older vehicles then ? Have a good trip _ fancy doing Eastern Europe too sometime.
FridgeFreezer
Britannia Rescue here, in a 1978 109.
TSD
I also use Britannia Rescue. As an alternative/backup, NFU Car Insurance provides (or used to, haven't checked this year) a Europe-wide assistance telephone number - you pay the bills, but they take care of finding towtruck, garage etc. Never needed it yet, but nice to know it's there. ballcock
ADAC is recommended on the self build motor home website as they have less restrictions on age, size, weight etc. and their price tend to beat most in this country.

Probably should have mentioned I'm doing it a 1991 Range Rover Classic The best part is their membership cover was less than what the RAC wanted to cover the two weeks in Europe and ADAC cover the UK too. sv130
Another thumbs up for ADAC. I used to pay A.Flux to provide cover but they only cover vehicles with a GROSS weight less than 2.500 kg. I,m surprised they manage to sell it at all, my unladen weight is 2.210kg.. Adac even cover large motorhomes http://www.adac.de/mitgliedschaft/adac_membership/default.aspx Gaz
