boymccoy
Just bought new 2.2 puma 110 2 weeks ago. What should I do to protect my investment?
matfield
Waxoyl anything you can get the gun into, including the bulkhead, I've seen a friends 3yr old 110 with signs of bulkhead corrosion already coming through the corners next to the dash. BTW, where in Dublin are you, I'm in Tullamore! Mat
landy andy.
Book it in to a professional rust treatment place, or good work shop, so they can treat it for you, and whilst at it ask if they can look/check things all look ok, if not make the most of your warranty. BogMonster
Yes, before anything gets dirty. I did my last vehicle (Ford Ranger) at its pre delivery inspection, and I'd do every new vehicle I get from now on.
Tanuki
How long will it be in your ownership before you sell it on/hand it back to the leaseco? If less than five years don't worry - corrosion will be someone-else's problem. Most of my Puma-owning acquaintances have them on a 2- or 3-year lease: "Corrosion" is not one of the listed issues that can sting them for a penalty-payment at termination. Happyoldgit
Yes... but Dinitrol products have been my preferred product range for a while.
studmuffin
By the way that you phrased your post it suggests that you bought the 110, not leased it. If so clean off any metal bits like the chassis, cross member, rear/ sidesteps etc.. and cover them with anything which will inhibit rust i.e. tractor paint, hammerite or any thing that will stop it rotting. Then wax oil to the Nth degree. From my feedback Pumas have the minimum paint/rust prevention paint/anti corrit thickness of any vehicle in current production. Coat it or lose it!
