SHY 7G
Hi all I've just fitted an uprated lift kit, and I wondered if I could do away with the old self levelling unit on the vehicle (top mounting and cylinder unit only)? just added photo for clarity thanks Rich
Bowie69
With most lift kits they become an irrelevant part of the suspension system, trying to level the car back down to the original ride height all the time. I would take it off if I were you
western
ditched the Boge strut unit on my 110CSW years ago, when my OME springs & dampers were fitted, the strut was dead & non working.
task
The CSK went the other direction (down) but I ditched the self leveller at the same time.

reggie
I haven't removed mine as I haven't touched the A-frame yet, is it much of a job to remove? I have some super pro bushes to fit at some point.
western
at the bottom ball joint ease back the cover you'll see a thin nut, undo this [used a punch/hammer to undo mine] Top joint undo the 4 bolts of it's bracket that secure the bracket to the chassis, the bottom joint cup can stay as it part of the axle A frame ball joint. Bowie69
Oh and it's quite a lump to drop on your foot, so don't do that
Biohazard
at the bottom ball joint ease back the cover you'll see a thin nut, undo this [used a punch/hammer to undo mine] Top joint undo the 4 bolts of it's bracket that secure the bracket to the chassis, the bottom joint cup can stay as it part of the axle A frame ball joint. The top has a similar arrangement and mine undid by spinning the whole unit after removing the bottom one. The 4 bolts on the bracket will likely be seized. western
if top bracket bolts won't undo, cut the heads or nuts off & drift the shanks out.
