Dumbsey
Hi everyone. My rear lower shock mount snapped off today. I have a 90 with a rear axle from a 200Tdi Discovery. Wanted some advice on where to buy new set of rear mounts (and shocks by the looks of it). Also do i have to remove the axle to fix this of can i manage to do it while axle is still attached? Thanks as always Rhys
ejparrott
YRM Metal solutions for the mount plate and yes you do need a pair of new shocks by the look of it. I think it can be done with the axle on the vehicle, if you have access to a pit or lift it makes it much easier, if not then left and support the vehicle to there's no weight on the springs giving you maximum room between body and axle. Team Idris
My main concern is that the radius arm brackets are in danger of the same failure?
JeffR
Having had a radius arm bracket go on a Disco axle and put me backwards thro a hedge - buy both sets of brackets and be safe.
mmgemini
Having had a radius arm bracket go on a Disco axle and put me backwards thro a hedge - buy both sets of brackets and be safe. Both sides of the axles too please
steve200TDi
I've done this. I took the axle off to do it and found the spring seats where very rusty too, so worth checking those too I'm afraid! Steve

steve200TDi
YRM do pretty much any repair section, that's where I got all of mine from! Steve
Dumbsey
cheers, looks like good quality stuff and good prices too! Another question, that i know is gonna open a big can of worms is shocks. ATM there are Pro comp ES9000 on front and back. Do i need the same make front and back or is it ok aslong as they are both the same lift (2") how do the Pro comps measure up?any other recommendations? Dont really want to break the bank as all this is unplanned Rhys
Disco-Ron
Surely it would be easier to fit a known good newer axle, that's what I did on mine, so I knew what I had.....
ejparrott
I've got mixed shocks on The 109, same on each axle, but different each end.
