bishbosh
Fridge -so one would think, but under Windows 7 I cannot find anything FIFO related in Device Manager . The advanced tab has plenty of options for handshaking, stop bits etc but nothing I could attribute to buffers. I'll post a screen shot tonight when on the home pc. CwazyWabbit
I'd have a play with the settings detailed on this page http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbaseresultdetl?id=3418
FridgeFreezer
If you set the transfer sizes lower I *think* that's another name for the buffers.
bishbosh
OK so I have some news...... Couldn't get the USB to serial converter to send data slow enough for my relic of a CNC so I splashed out on a £50 laptop from ebay. A quick play with th lin delay and bingo! Sends code perfectly! Thanks all for your help, I shall be in the mancave for the foreseable creating all sorts of amazing stuff. (and breaking endmills )
landroversforever
How big is the mill bish? (Caveat - I know nothing about your machining skills) I'm sure there are a few of us that could help with advice if you're having problems with the programming/methods/etc. I'm certainly happy to help! bishbosh
Cheers Ross - just starting out on this CNC lark so I will have a steep learning curve! The mill is a Denford Triac - only has a 1hp spindle and small table, but plenty for me to be going on with.

bishbosh
Hopefully the mill will start to produce buggy parts soon....... it's only been 4 years since I started.....
