need4speed Posted January 9, 2015 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I have discovered a loose stainless rivnut on my bulkhead. Is it possible to just nip it up using the nut/bolt method or will i need to try and remove it somehow? Thought id ask opinions here before trying it and totally buggering it up.. Lewis Posted January 9, 2015 Share Posted January 9, 2015 You can try to pinch it up a bit more but in my experience its worse than pot luck. Best bet is to tack the head to the bulkhead with the TIG If you have to fetch it out the best way is to drill the head off, or maybe use a powerfile/10mm belt sander if there's access. bushwhacker Posted January 9, 2015 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I had a couple of nutserts loose on the top of the 110 fuel tank I managed to tighten them up with a bolt and nut screwed down then backing it out it worked for me.
