need4speed
I made all my gauges the same - vdo vision. Bought them from ETB Instruments. Found them to be very helpful
rrr47
You could go for a twin gauge such as below and have space for further instruments.
need4speed
That looks a bit too "busy" for my taste.
rrr47
I agree, no quick glance, you have to really look to check, but if you are stuck for space.
western
VDO Vision gauges for , oil temp, 2 x voltmeters in my 110 all bought from Europa Spares http://www.europaspares.com/interior-parts/instruments-gauges.html easy to swap over & a good match for LR original gauges but a lot more accurate, senders can be supplied to match. Inigo
I believe VDO made the original ones for Land Rover, hence the good match. I added VDO temp gauge (needed to replace temp sender as well), VDO fuel gauge (I think the fuel tank level gauge is iffy - but it goes from full on the gauge(full in the tank) to empty on the gauge (tank 50% full), so better than the original gauge it replaced) and VDO rev counter. Rev counter fed from W terminal on alternator and switchable for V8. I got a bit carried away and also added VDO voltmeter, VDO oil pressure gauge, existing vacuum gauge and an AFR gauge in the mud dash. gti-90
Thanks for the replys. I will be going for vdo it seems they have a good following. I'm assuming that oil pressure is worth having? If so 5 bar or 10? I might change the fuel as that's iffy too. Anybody know the temp sender required for a non serp 3.9? Thanks
need4speed
Only 5 bar required if you have an RV8
