need4speed
In the past, when inquiring about bearings at suppliers, the moment they found out it was automotive, the standard reply was "can't help you with that". Most people also don't want the liability involved in supplying these bearings. Ive got to be honest with you. Ive never experienced that. Maybe my local SKF dealer is unusually helpful. Mind you ive never went in and said its for a vehicle etc. Ive always just gone in with whatever old bearing and they can cross-reference the numbers on the bearing. elbekko
I can remember 2 distinct occasions. Both cases I had the bearing with me, bearing number clearly visible. They couldn't find any matches by bearing number, all dimensions were slightly off, and when they ask "what it's from" and you say "a car" the door immediately shuts basically. need4speed
They sound carp. Id be using someone else if i were you. The guys i use have lists that cover all the big bearing manufacturers. they always get a bearing reference. Even when a particular number has been superceded with a different part. FridgeFreezer
With bearings & seals you can always machine a spacer or two to allow something standard to fit.
