dave88sw Posted May 27, 2015 Share Posted May 27, 2015 89 is right on the line between the old 19J Td and the 200tdi, the 19j does need lots of glow plug whereas the 200 will fire instantly without them. Just the nature of the engines. If you have a 19j holding for longer than 10 secs will improve starting, I usually count to 20, 30 on cold mornings. Puffernutter Posted May 27, 2015 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Yup, my 110 originally had a 19J that had to be held at 1/2 turn to fire up the heaters (and it needed a pre-heat!).
