Simon_CSK Posted January 31, 2016 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Ok I have raised this before but still do not have a solution. My suspension knock and the steering wobbles at anything over 45. So far I have replaced one wheel bearing and, the track control arms. Today I took off one radius are with a view to replacing the bushes but with it off I did not see an noticeable degradation so reinstalled them. I did notice that the links on the anti roll bars appear a little worn so have ordered new ones but I am not convinced this is the cause of the problem. Any I thoughts appreciated. I can greatly reduce the severity, but never quite get rid of it - everything has been replaced/re-newed. At the moment, steering wobble is noticeable, but not concerning, I now wonder if it had/has something to do with the front propshaft, been running around in rear wheel drive since before Christmas (front prop fell apart) and haven't been able to put new prop on due to health issues. Boydie Posted January 31, 2016 Share Posted January 31, 2016 I think you (both) will find that the culprit is the front propshaft. My 'umble guestimate is that at some time in their existence they have been taken apart and reassembled without being first marked to ensure that they are re-assembled exactly as original and that as a result the balance has been compromised. The two universal yokes should be at 45* to one another - check the RAVE manual for the correct settings and then take them to a specialist to have their balance checked. The car has been fine for 30k since the chassis was rebuilt. Would the prop not have caused a problem before this?
