blacksmithbob
Hello all, I'm just trying to put a new bulb in the hazard switch, so apart from the two screws on the bottom edge of the centre console, what else has to be removed from the dash to get it off? Thanks in advance.
Anderzander
You need to take the top dash panel off - so the screws either end of the vents, a couple of small screws up into the panel from the top edges of the recesses in the front of it, the 3(?) big screws through the top of the panel - and both end pieces (handle and vent controls). Once that's out it will reveal a couple more screws on the top of the dash panel.
blacksmithbob
Thanks for that. The 3 big Phillips screws are almost a windscreen out job too!
Anderzander
You can just about use one of those stubby screw drivers. An alternative might be that if you have the tools to pull out the radio - you could possibly get your hand in and push the switch out from behind ? The cage may stop that though - and it's not a big job to pull out the top of the dash. Only other bit I didn't mention before was on the left hand side grab handle their is a screw at the bottom going in downwards - and a second behind the little Land Rover badge, which you can prise out with a small screwdriver. dailysleaze
For the 3 dash top screws, I sometimes use an impact driver bit with an 8mm spanner to turn it. They're not usually in tight.
Aragorn
you can get little minature ratchets that take standard hex drive screwdriver bits too: http://www.teng.co.uk/tm029-teng-tools-29-pce-socket-and-bit-set.html
Bowie69
My halfords ratchet spanner set cane with an attachment which takes a normal hex screw driver bit, and then has a 10mm hex on the back of it. For when I have needed to get in very tight places to get to a screw it has been very good, and really only as deep as the bit in the holder.
