mcc1979ian
Finally got the fuel banjo iv been waiting on so today got round to fitting it and trying to fire it up. It croaked and for a split second started then immediately shut off again then just cawed and cawed but wouldn't fire. I'm assuming it just burnt off what fuel was in the pipes. The filter is empty so I tried priming it with the lift pump but there's no resistance whatsoever in the pump. Could the pump be at fault?
pete3000
don't mess about with lift pump, pull white wire off stop solenoid. Then open 10mm nut on filter and get a helper to crank it over till you get fuel out of the bleed nut. If you don't uou either have no fuel, a blockage or your lift pump is banjaxed. stephencdavies
another way is to use a brake vacuum bleeder on the filter vent. i did this to prime mine when the lift pump was stuffed.
Maverik
Much easier and quicker to use engine to prime the fuel system as per pete's suggestion.
