Can anyone offer advice or opinion on tents please .....

I'm planning in turning the new 90 over to some touring - My wife, little girl, and I - and I wondered if anyone might share any tent type suggestions ?

I can't afford the trailer tent, full on expedition roof tent stuff - but I haven't been camping since I was a lot younger and used to use a bivvy bag.

Second hand would be fine - but brand and type suggestions would be good.

With having a CSW I think I'll have to look at roof top storage to make it happen too.

I bought a bench seat from them - I posted on here : 'what could go wrong with a seat ?'

I hadn't thought it through - it was the least comfortable seat I think I've ever sat on.

I do though remain optimistic to hear a report from someone of an excellent blue boxed product.

I was just coming back to post - but I was only going to re-count what Paul had told me and tell you Paul is the one to speak to.

Also to add - that I'm not sure Paul can provide the heated switch but where he can provide you things (terminals, blocks, etc) I would definitely recommend you get them from him.

There a good post in the tech archive about suspension travel - if you read that and took in the above (ie evaluate the shock on travel rather than the quoted '+' figure) then I think it should make it all pretty clear.

You can use the existing wiring and its connectors - well I could on the two td5's I've fitted it to.

I don't know how accurate these figures are but a quick google produced :

RRC is listed as 2011Kg

90 is listed as 1870 Kg

D2 is listed as 2220 Kg

I was told that the 200 returns better MPG than the 300, and the 300 more than the Td5 ..... Is that right ?

I know weight plays a big part in it - my friend has a 200 in his 80" and has reached 40mpg with it.

I don't think anyone has called you a liar. Just seems a lot of friendly people talking a out how unbelievable 38mpg is.

They are largely the same friendly people who read your other posts and offer advice and help when they can I think.

Take it easy - a forum is for discussion after all.
