  1. In the process of fitting this kit. Only seems to work on getting the actuator to expand. If I press the lock button they don't move. Ideas? Tried connecting all 4 actuators. Still nothing. Light on fob comes on when press button..
  2. To confirm, I presume the bolt you drilled out the one i've linked to on Ebay?
  3. Not one of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-Banjo-Bolt-for-Power-Steering-Pump/263510920217?hash=item3d5a798c19:g:I4sAAOSwZtJW-pK7 I can easily see how you can drill this out etc..
  4. Recently obtained a new 110, the steering is horrid. Vague as anything, light and not 'linear' it its movement at all. The previous owner said he drilled out the steering banjo to increase flow. I'd wager this is my problem. Its a 200tdi, I'm having a bit of trouble indentifiying exactly which bolt is the culprit here.
  5. Has anyone any photos of this, not 100% sure what I'm looking for..
  6. There not mine, they were the only decent photo I could find of the 110 chassis brackets for the chair mounting. Turns out, they may not even be them!
  7. I've got myself a new early defender 110. It has 3 sets of rear seats, but none currently installed. 3 separate L shaped basic seats. 1 solid bench - it appears this is what the car has brackets for I think. There is another set, need to look at them in a bit more detail. I want to install the 3 separate L shaped basic seats, and then get a set of the Exmoor trim upgrade seats. I think I need the mounts on the car, the same as on the photo attached. Can I simply get these mounts and attach them on.. I also have a panel with central seat belts and inner and outer seat belt clips.. I have no idea where this goes.. shown in dark photo I've taken
  8. Put new relay in.. lots of clicks but no start. Put a battery jumper on and still the same.. just lots of clicks. Thinking starter for sure. Thoughts?
  9. Haven't got the car or the fuse to hand, does anyone have a part number of the starter motor relay in question?
  10. Is that one of the yellow ones above the transmission tunnel in the cabin?
  11. Thought I'd give this thread a bit of a bump / review. Been a few months of daily use now, for the most part I actually don't mind it too much now. Fuel economy is about the same, max speed slightly slower and louder but acceleration is vastly improved! It's initially slow of the line, but between 20 -50 it's not to bad, allowing pulling out onto main roads to be much more 'oppourtune'. Wouldn't change the transfer ratio intentionally for this one, but it's not the disaster I first feared..
  12. Been going great past few months.. Then today, pulled into get fuel, got back in.. Nothing. No clicks, nothing when turned the key. Lights didn't dim either, which to me suggests duff starter??? Got a push start and was on my way again. Heaters just packed up yesterday, and now the starter aswell?.. great.
  13. Mmmm I think this is what caught me out.. Oh well, live and learn
  14. As far as I know, its all in good health and have no reason to doubt its condition. Receipts for recent timing belt, and replacement turbo suggest to me its been looked after, and general conditon under the bonnet seems very tidy. Took it to Italy last year, so as I said I'm confident thats not at fault
  15. I'm not sure about the diffs, to my knowledge they are standard, from the reading I've done a lt77 and 1.2 transfer box make a good all rounder for a defender. Tbh, I hadn't driven it in 3 months, and have been using a diesel X type and a supercharged 4 cylinder petrol which loves to rev.. maybe I have just forgoten the landy experience..
  16. Took some brave pills.. Got up to the dizzying heights of a GPS verified 61mph.. wow (speedo suggests 70) This is at about half throttle, but it sounds crazy revs, and personally I'm not a fan of revving the nuts off old diesel engines. Atleast I know I can go the same speed as lorrys, so no longer dangerously slow. It will do for a few months, I'll look at fitting a replacement in the new year probably..
  17. Definitely not low range. I've checked that. It feels like 3rd!! 1st, 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th all work, abliet very closely matched. I'm contemplating changing to 5th at 35mph.. Tomorrow I'll stop being a pussy, and take some earplugs..
  18. I don't have a rev limiter, im only going by ear but at 50 it sounds like it's screaming. It may go 50+ but by sounded like it was nearly bouncing off the limiter already! On the old transfer box when doing 70 giving it is all, it sounded at less revs than it is now!
  19. So I feel a bit of a cockspanner. Looks like I misread the serial no completely, I read this as a 28D, giving me a 1.2 but looks I may be way off, and can't see any refernce to that anywhere
  20. Mmmm valid point, it feels bloody slow, I'll get the GPS on it this evening. This is with a 200tdi, LT77 and LT230 transfer box on a 90 defender. Its on 33's but as said, seemed much quicker before. Perhaps its just placebo effect
  21. My old transfer box cracked its case, so I got a replacement. My original I beleive was a 1.2 and the car topped out at 65/70mph~ I've got a second hand repalcement fitted, based on the serial no it was also a 1.2 or thereabouts. Fitted, it works fine but now topping out at 55mph~ It must have been changed on this unit in the past Seeing as I have the final ratio that I want, how much of a job is it to switch the two over? I've looked online, can't seem to find a guide for this, as it seems quite a common change? Can it be undertaken in situ, or must the transfer box be removed.
  22. So, it appears it was simply the earth and a low battery combined. The earth chassis bolt was a bit rusty, replaced with new bolt and it instantly turned over!
