hello all ,
i was stripping the bulkhead from the scottish 110 (ex mod and seems to be 1985) and noticed some differences with other bulkheads i stripped .
the flyscreen is welded to the bulkhead , all i have seen (old one's) are riveted in .
and a closed off part , other bulkheads i have seen this is open (it's above the footwell, looking up to the windscreen)
is this MOD special , or some idea to improve on the earlier version's ?

charge your battery , the low voltage make's the relais close and open fast , so you get the buzzing noise ...
(had the same couple weeks ago , couldn't start the car with a jump battery , charged the battery and vroem ...)

i think he's more looking for this :
https://www.strike.com.au/collections/antennas
seems to work for 3g and 4g (some even 5g) , so could be usefull on our side of the world (we seem to use the same bands as aus)

The mayor problem in automotive electronics is glitches from the sparks in the ignition system.
No problem with Diesel ......
mmm i work with Heavy Goods Vehicle's at a Dealer , and we see a lot off hick-ups with can signal's on trucks .... and they are all big diesels ....

i'm not a fan of Can bus technology (way to many faults/hick-ups , even in a OEM envirement) , bit this seems like a decent aproach .
can you make a drawing how the system looks like when in the car ?

send a mail to the manufacturer ?

It is clean and no holes fella, a bit of a wire wheel and a washer tacked to that tag should do the job I reckon
can you have a look inside , all i have seen so far are really crusty on the inside (to the point they have almost pinhole's )
the outside on most seems mostly very decent .

Yep, not much help! Says JLB on the seal, google says it's a bearing company...all in chinese tho!
and only a telefonenumber , not even a e-mail adress ....
and my chinese is not so good , so i don't intend calling them 😉

Bearing finally arrived, the dimensions are spot on 22x36mm so the column will need some fettling to get the bearing to fit. No big deal as I got a lathe, but I think a good rub with a sandpaper will work just as well.
The bearing came in a plastic bag with some chinese letters, no brand name. On the seal I can read 61904RZ JLB which could be a part no. However a google search gave me a bearing 20x37x9mm which it is surely not!
using google translate , the chinese caracters say : " bearing" so not much use ....

I always thought the pitch was the distance between the "peaks" of the thread rather than the depth of the "troughs"🤔
Cheers

it is , it seems it just turned out to be the right size for drilling as well
(a very long time ago they teached me to be a certified metal worker , and nobody ever mentioned this in school ... we just used charts to look up the right size to drill )
-
bad idea , just replace the headgasket and torque it propperly according to the manual .

If you are struggling to find one, maybe you could make one from some copper pipe, using your old one as a template for the bends, held in place with clips?
thought about that , but not sure i can get the bends close enough to fit (a "normal" pipe bender needs a fair bit of room between bends).

Or here https://www.euro4x4parts.com/en/parts/ref=KTU1019/heating-steel-pipe/oe=err371
But no mounting tabs on it.
Have a look on ebay as well.
yes , i found these but i have to e-mail them to find out if they really stock them (it say's "Equivalent to ERR371" , to me that means there not Land-Rover)
if they do it might be a good alternative
9 minutes ago, western said:Hurbie - - Rimmer Bros in Lincolnshire are showing that ERR371 as available
i mailed most of the usual suspect's , but nobody seems to have 1 in stock , and Landrover is out of them .

hello all ,
does anybody know if you can use the waterpipe from the 300tdi (https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/err6197-rigid-coolant-pipe-300-tdi.html) , or doesn't it fit behind/under the Turbo ?
engine is a Defender spec so has the high turbo , the water pipe i need is ERR371 , this has a big curve in it to clear the turbo , but is no longer availeble.
the one i have is very rusted inside and has a mounting tab broken off (seems a standard isseu with these)
this is the one i need : https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ERR371

It's a 2012 110CSW, in near perfect condition with 33,000 miles onl
why did it need a new chassis then ?
-
i would go with the old spec , and change the collapsable spacer for a solid one .

Just a thought how is the inner column on Series vehicles held so it can rotate,
Anyone looked if it's bearings or bronze oiled bushes?
bearing cup and steel balls , so doubt it wil work .

this is the reason i put ballancing beads in mine .... (normally used in HGV )

plus with this , every time you start driving , it ballances your wheels again 🙂
