  2. 602152 same for both 3.5 and 3.9 Got my last ones from RPi, but Real Steel wil do them too. Welcome to the forum.
  3. Exactly! The damn thing used to keep running after I'd switched it off hence it's name. Still like it now, but at least I know why now. Just can't afford to rectify the problem.
  4. Quite alright and after all, anyone who calls their motor Lulu needs all the help they can get
  5. The 20 post rule applies to all, in every section. However I won't castigate you (don't have a scalpel to hand) as it's currently more a request for help than something you want to sell. Just call me Mr Magnanimous
  6. My youngest did his work experience at a LR stealer and he reckoned there was a freeby on one of the bays for a warranty fuel pump almost every day!
  7. Hiya Hollywood' how you doing?
  8. Your very old bobtail probably has the original "very old" fuel pump still attached. They don't last for ever but you can buy replacements such as Facet, that do a great job of pumping fuel up.
  9. I deleted the other one as it was a double-up. All new members are on post approval in an attempt to stop those pesky spammers. Hence why you didn't see your first post. Welcome anyway.
  10. Welcome to the forum. I like spray cans of white grease for waterproofing. Certainly works on Shed ok.
  11. Welcome to he forum. The cv's are stiff when new.
  12. Sorry I phrased that wrong, the Trannies are dying in their droves is what I meant.
  13. I think the Defender will be in trouble! I'm reliably informed that the new Tranny lump used in new Def's, is so bad some are already on their fourth engine under warranty!
  14. Nah, get rid of the RR and the Disco will pine for the loss of such a beautiful companion. Sell the Disco and the RR will breath a sigh of relief that the riff-raff has finally gone elsewhere
  15. I'm sure that anything is possible, especially with LR's. I suppose I don't find them too bad after those terrible Desmo type from the old RR. I did have a pair of Mk2 Tranny mirrors on the pick-up, which worked quite well.
  16. Hmm, well without wishing to preach, you can be prosecuted for not having tow mirrors fitted if your view to the rear is restricted to such a degree. Towing with the normal RR mirrors never bothered me though in all the years before I picked up a set of the proper extensions
  17. None I reckon and who can blame them. The SVA is a right royal rip off as with most theings you are forced to comply with. Interesting thread though guys, well done.
  18. I've obviously missed something here. By saying 'original body' does this mean that a RR chassis'ed Series 1 hybrid now has to have a Q plate because it doesn't have it's original shell? Not heard that bit of news.
  19. I remember reading on here about Bogmonster's raving's over the new Freelander awhile back and thinking, "Hmm. leopard... spots... Well I was wrong and I just thought I'd say what a fantastic not-so-little-anymore motor the new Freebie is! We were looking around the latest line-up on Lindacre's stand at the Mid Suffolk Show (which just happened to be right next to our SLROC stand and off road ride area. It just looks right and the cabn is really well appointed and surprisingly large: sort of Tardis-like! Double the output from the uprated TD4 and 6 spd box all adds up to what looks to be a real winner. Let's just hope quality control is better now than it was in the past. It's a pity they couldn't have made a decent job of the styling on the D3 though. But then, Discovery has always been the ugly duckling in the family, I guess!
  20. For everyone's info, I have been in touch with the starter of this thread, just in case you thought I didn't give a damn.
  21. Lovely pic of the Camel. Where you driving J
  22. I've just bought a 1991 3.9 Vogue SE that has had the abs removed. The replacement parts are all similar year Discovery parts: Master Cyl, Servo, Pressure limiting valve etc.
  23. To add to the above The ZF is far smoother and refined than the Torqueflite and the engine braking in low first gear is far superior in my experience.
  24. Are you sure? 200tdi - 111hp and 195 lb/ft torque 2.5 VM - 119hp and 209 lb/ft torque I would prefer to think of an upgrade as the 2.8 TGV, rather than more of the same. The 2.5 VM is a good lump as long as it has been looked after. And as for the gloaters who go around taking the mick out of VM's and V8's blowing head gaskets: every 5 minutes I am hearing of another tdi in bits for exactly the same job.
