  1. He walked away, bit of a strained shoulder and that was it. With it just being gravity holding the plough down he was lucky it never came further in to the cab. Another 150ft down the road and there's a 300ft+ drop for about 3/4 of a mile Tompy will be having a few days off work I think.
  2. Couple more piccys for y'all... The beacons on my truck looked awesome in the dark with 1ft of snow on the roof and making the whole roof glow..
  3. Well here's something you don't see every day...!!! Was out clearing windblow and snow damaged trees today no fun walking down tracks where the snow is up to your thighs... 2ft average, no drifting as of yet and not a hope with any of the land rovers (without a back up vehicle)
  4. Doesn't look much use with no snow... :P
  5. When I bothered to replace the lift pump in my old TD I gained an extra 5 MPG :/
  6. With out trying to hijack the thread I'm after some 20" rims to re-centre or 8 stud. Not sure of PCD
  7. I've never tried the www. thing but have had stainless hoses and unions put together in my desired length by (autosave) don't know if they are a nation wide thing but got 2 sets 7 years ago very cheap and still have them today with no issues. I've advised friends and they have the same thing. 1 Set I've had on three cars, superb.
  8. OK, found a couple. Oval, black and silver saying LAND ROVER Solihull warwickshire England. What your looking for? I'm sure I have more somewhere maybe on a different style Got a couple of plastic ones somewhere to I'll try and dig out later on.
  9. I'll see what I have in the shed on Saturday. Drop me a pm then just in case I forget
  10. Around where I am a wider tyre is better as you want to float across the top, if you break through it there usually isn't a bottom, boggers for the gloops stuff and maxi cross for anything else The fedima trial-ades are pretty good...
  11. LWB/SWB Only as I'm looking for a 109
  12. One from a 90 can easily be made to fit a series, the one I had on my 90 ended up on a mates 88. It's now lying in the works yard waiting to go on their TD5 110 DC in replacement of the canvas...
  13. The same as series ones then, I took mine off in exchange for home made bonnet pins. Didn't think they were that fantastic, I have two different types here. One type is ready for the bin unless I can make a catch for my split rear door...
  14. google; formula offroad.... That's what your after... This site might be of use to... RT sometimes has some channel 512 or 513 and SA direct, chanel 270ish motors tv has that american trucks racing round a dirt course, i forget the name
  15. Are the defender ones the same as series....? I could take a pic of a series one....?
  16. Some sort of adjustable tow bar drop plate quick release thingmyjig....?
  17. I'm confused where do you live, even when I was 19 I could get insurance for under £100 on my land rover...
  18. tinter web is your friend, google day insurance.....? Or take out a proper policy and decide you don't want it after your 14 day cooling off period
  19. Give your local swimming pools a try/ leisure centres never no what they have hidden in a back room to be chucked or what they'll be getting rid of. Got a lovely mat for the disco, had to cut it to shape though. Oh and some of them have suckers on the bottom.!
  20. 225/75r16 would be 225mm wide then to get the height you divide 225 by 100 and multiply by the 75 which gives you the profile of 168.75mm so overall tyre height is 168.75mm multiplied by two plus the rim height so 16" is 406.4mm plus 337.5mm is 743.9mm which makes it 29.28" tall and 225mm wide which is 8.85" wide Just apply the same idea for the other sizes to get the dimensions you require. The Dakar is a pretty good tyre for the money, I had a set of 265/75r16's on a disco which seen well over 20,000 miles and were sold on after that. Go for them???
  21. Similar thing happened to mine. Wouldn't bother me. What age is it and scope for haggling...?
