ok cool thanks for that peeps
i think i need to go down a size in pole thickness or just the end bit as 2" maybe too big to make a slide over hook
i can go smaller as i have a ball couplin with a smaller tube adaptor but dont have a ball hitch on the car
i could use wot we have at work a 76mm nato eye at either end but that means having to bolt a nato hitch on a 110 im goin to be towing soon lol
not cheap is it lol
dont surpose you can take a pic of the end where it goes onto the towing car so i can see how thats arranged, i had a idea on how to do it with a bit that slides over the end and use a ratchet strap to hold it on tight
bringing this back up as im goin to be making one myself
i have a 40mm pin couplin for the end but not too sure in what to do the other end, seen on ebay people use D shackles but surley this will have a lot of movement if you need to add another for the horizontal or vertical eyes?? maybe a ratchet strap arrangement?
also i will be using 60mm external dia gas pipe with a wall thickness of 4mm so this shud be ok
any of you got a pic of what you use so i can get a idea
got some bench seasts from island 4x4 for me 90, 40quid cheep enough for what i wanted them for but when they turned up they were britparts, opened the box and they looked cheep, tacky and looke a bit twisted where the weld wasnt done propley didnt even try to fit them and then sent them back
waited till i founbd a pair of single inward facing seats
if u took the pump off yourself insted of gettin me to do it at the last minuite then we wouldnt have this problem
ralph after speaking to a specialist he told me it can be done with a dti in a holw on the back but my dti dont fin it the hols so im letting him do it for a drink
ive got a discovery 300tdi fuel pump that will be fitted to to my 200tdi engine
the problem i have is that the mail pilley had been taken off leaving the taper shaft on show
the pump has space for a woodruff key but the pulley that the belt pulley is bolted to dont have a cut for a keyway
how do i know when the pump is timed so i can bolt the belt pulley to it in the correct position??
ill think i pop down and fill it with loosing oil and see wot happens
looks like i wont be goin to play at the weekend as it be spend workin on the bloody thing
eill be goin back to it thursday so i let u know wot goes on, thanks mate
well the piston was tight anyway so thats now free
if i full throttle and the pin donr come out then what do i do is there a way of getting it to move out or is it pump strip down
take it that this pin is not now letting me rev the engine up
my 200tdi defender has a broken fuel pump, i think
a mate has a pump from a 300tdi disco spare that has the immobliser pack on the back where you would normally find the solinoid
will this pump work on my engine even if i need to add wires to the immobliser unit to make it work electronically will it still work mechanically?
help lol
i think its broken
i squirted loosing oil in and around the plunger turning pullin and pushing and then eventualy the plunger came out with brown yukky stuff all over the end. cleaned it off and put the plubger back and kept woorkin it up and down and spinning about till it was free with no tight spots
put all back together started it up and it now runs rough, smokes a bit at idle and dont rev up
what have i done??
following from my post that i have no power
plenty of boost so theres no problem there
i took the injectors out and cleaned them up as was a bit sooty but wasnt able to try another set
took the top bit off the fuel pump where the diaphragm is and that was stuck down with no movement, prised it up and it now moves up and down but i cant take it out fulley to see where the cone shape bit is facving because it now runs like theres no turbo on it??
also when spinning it round there is a tight spot maybe that has something to do with my lack of power a siezed up part of the pump??
only used them once, plus they were good to me as they did a bit of extra cleaning as the shot blasting didnt do the sealant bits
be goin back to them for project no.2 lol
i try that this weekend then as i know sum one who has a 200tdi and it will be very close to mine on saturday if all goes well
and skint no i be doin that this weekend
