hello all been helping a mate get his 90 project running this weekend when it came to fit the non original front wing it mounts at the top differentley than what the original one does for starters it dont have a vent in the side for the car, its now a 200tdi and the wing in question is the ns onem notr does the os wing have a vent and the original engine was surpost to of been a petrol?? any way the original wing has the tab at the top that bolts on the bulkhead under the bonnet and the other wing thats the non original one has a hole in the top but no tab for the bolt hole under the bonnet what was this wing from and what sort of year just out of intrest? if any one has a ns whit wing with a vent then i will have that aswell thanks

looks like it will have to go wuth the list of "deal with it" problems lol cant drilling and moving something 3 times help like i had to do to a light bar i had on my discovery that was causing a reflecting problem lol?

so there are a few out there that need things doing but cant be bothered lol glad im not the only one, saying that im having a landrover (and other 4x4) tinkering weekend so i hope to get some bits done to mine and not just help out others that are joining me at work lol, the biggest job of the weekend is to fit a engine to a mates 90 and hope to get it in running and most of the car put back together as he got a petrol 90 off ebay somr tiame ago and he goin to stick in a 200tdi, weve dun things like this before so it shud go well lol

as with all forums theres lots of people who ask and give advice on problems what i want to know how many of you have problems that you know of but cant be bothered to fix or not on the list of things that need fixing or anything else? my offroader has many faults that i know of but dont bother me or can be done some time soon the faults and problems are 1, the wipers do a full sweep when they like when in the off position 2, my osr spring comes away from the chassis when the axle is on articulation be playdays or green lanes and dont find its way back in the cup propley nothing wront with the nsr tho?? 3, prop uj' have now got too much play in them that greese only fixes for a day or so 4, major rear diff pinion play resulting in all sorts of knocks bangs and milkshake being found where oil should be, oil gets changed every few weeks till i get it sorted tho lol 5, ns door handle still broken so cant open from the outside 6, os door opening is done by a cable tie as the window got stuck open by 2" about 2 months ago and only just got it fixed as the way i closed the door was crab the bottom of the window and it worked loose and the tape didnt hold any more 7, about 20 holes in the rear where old bench seats and seat belts were removed and more holes were drilled to fit a single fold up seat either side 8, im sure i have a few bushes that have play in them as theres knocks and bangs when hitting bumps in the road 9, theres a creaking where the side and tub meet on the capping, only get this onge it had been jetwashed so not that oftern 10, hrw not working as the terminal has been broken off the window 11, rear wash wipe not working as i dont know where the wires are for it up front 12, all guages mist up after a wile 13, diff lock light not working rite i think thats it, but like i said these things dont bother me nor are of importance at the moment the first job to do is get the diff and props sorted as i tend to do a fair amount of miles in it and i have the parts to do the jobs as well so there shouldnt be any excuse realy now itd down to you wot problems hav u got that u can deal with and not worry about?

aah its one of thoes landrover things then lol its a bit confusing when goin down a country lane and then a car appears in front of you then you think theres one that has appered from out of nowhere behind aswell i dont think ive noticed it with my pick up tho, then again i dont drive that much in the dark lol

on my defender 90 hard top with side windows in the dark i get a reflection of whats in front of me when i look in the rear view mirror out the back, if you see what i mean any one else have this anoying reflection

why do there need to be so many different kinds? lol i was planing to get som the same as our boost pack at work so i can use that on my cars if needed but lookin at £6 a pair rather than £6 each i may just go for that

bloody battery being under the seat the last 3 weeks ive had to jumpstart a few cars with my 90 and also jump start my 90 with my other 90, normally wouldnr be a problem but with them being up the drive aith no means of getting next to one and another or being able to open both doors at the same time ive decided to fit andersen plugs to the front of my car at the winch cable now i think i need 8 plugs one on the car and winch of one 90 one on the car and winch of the other 90 now the jumpleads, i was goin to put a andersen plug at one end of the cable so i can jump from a 90 to a noramla battery but thought i need to have andersen plugs both ends for when i need to jump start onr 90 from another the reason being andersen plugs at the front make life so much more easyer that taking the seat and cover off taking the thick rubber pad i have in there to stop the terminals rubbing on the seat box cover as there so close to it and then putting them all back again when the jobs done is there any easyer way round it? plus the cose of 8 plugs isnt going to be cheap is it lol

not looked at prices near me for a wile now but my landroveer is now sat on the drive waiting for some more water contaminated diesel wile my work van is being used a lot more

i have these lights on the back of my 90 one on each side fixed into the roof just abouve the rear windows use the 55w bulb and gives plenty of light. i run it off a switch from my second battery so if i need to use it for a work light rather than reversing i can do so with out running down the starting battery ive not gone through a relay for them both as the cable and switch i have used can handle the amps they draw, if i went for higher wattage bulbs then i would of had to

have holes in tread on the outsides is this so you can put studs in it for snow/ice conditions?

i did the decat pipe from a early td5 egr blanking and also remived the center box but i did this when i built ths car up so never had the chance to drive it before a mate had som work done by twisted and that sound nice when he boots it lol

a 19kg gas bottle and space heater i got from work to heat my garage at home so i can tinker in the warm old pic and old car but same garage and same heater the heater is sat on a b&d work mate pointing in the back of my 90 to dry it out after i jet washed the inside yesterdqay lol

i was goin to the awdc one but membership run out back in april but never renewed as i nexer had a 4x4 at the time and to go and become a member and play its about 70quid thats before fuel(be bout a tank if were takin a family member as we haf to go get them) and lunch(for 3 people) so not doin that lol core 4x4, last night i asked my mate how it went when he went last month, he said theres more to do at slindon

just got my parts to do the conversion from the part numbers that retroanaconda listed all that is needed was the nuts and locking tab as i was told by the person i got the parts from the thrust washer was the same as the td5 one so thats 4 less items to get

yea the 200tdi axle had some spacers on the cv shaft with a cir clip as does my td5 axles do i need the trust washer as theres one allready there? cant i just take off the single nut and middle bearing spacer and fit the double lock nit with locking tab??

its a early type td5 i need to remove the nut and bearing again tomorrow and see what colour/size the middle spacer is i thought all spacers were the biggest size as standard then you go down in size depending how much play you got unless theyve been done before and the smaller spacer was used to remove the play in old bearings?? im goin to be ordering new nuts and locking tabs tomorrow and put back to old type as ive seen threads on this
