I hooked the chains onto the tubes that go through the bulkhead to take the bulkhead to outrigger bolts.

As western did I did a complete body off in one piece it works well I used a gantry over the bulkhead with a chain hoist on each side and another chain hoist on the spare wheel carrier.

Towbar is fine but if your taking that off then a pair of jate rings bolted through the towbar stay mounts. Failing that a tank guard with recovery points or remove able towbar.

I had this set up on the tomcat the only downside is it uses quite a lot of water. But it is very effective at cleaning the windscreen.

The washer bottle is similar to the later defender under wing bottle but I got it at Sodbury years ago. However it was undrilled but had the recess for the headlight washers pump. So I've fitted the headlight washers pump off a disco just need to alter the wiring to run the pump with the screenwash.
It is really nice to be working on it again but now I just want to get it on the road now.

Forward progress abound wiper arms have been cut down. I was planning to fit them but bocsh had other ideas a 17" wiper in a 15" box!
Moved on to the washer system.
I'm using discovery headlight washers for the windscreen. But needed to cut down the jet housings and change the angle they sit at. This then needed a spacer for the underside so they would bolt up.
I've also fitted a proper cooling fan switch which meant drilling and tapping the housing.

That looks like it might be a Starcraft. They were a company that made a camper kit in both rear body and complete vehicle variant.

Therefore the roof won't fit either.

Are you sure about the roof because I'm pretty sure the sides don't fit a 90. 110/109 I believe will. 88 sides fit a 110sw but 90 sides don't. Truck cab should fit but as western says with a series windscreen.

I'd already sent him an eBay link before you posted here so your probably exonerated.
When I bought mine I phoned tsd to talk me out of it the response I got was. "You have to buy it so I dont" so I guess I've just returned the favour.

Well at least you already know what colour it's going to be and you have someone lined up to paint it.

Not much done during the week but manged to squeeze an afternoon today. I've got the bonnet catch, safety and buffers fitted just need to ease the grill panel and sort a release cable. Also got the fan fitted and the washer bottle. Washers need the pump fitting to the bottle, jets fitting and plumbing up. So all in all a good afternoon.

Funny he told me all the way there (with a trailer on the back) that he wasn't buying it and he said that just going to look at it was "all your fault".
My work is done.

I bought some spanners 24mm upto 32mm (and used one today) from a club committee member who was on our stand with me. Sold enough to cover entrance and the spanners.

Fridge they are no worse than the millions of alloy split rims out there plus unlike most bead locks the tyre sit on the rim then the rim is bolted to the rest of the wheel. I might well just stick with sealant as I'm more that likely to change to 33" tyres in the not to distant future.

They are with rtv now and two leak. Plus I have a perpetual dislike for silicone sealant.

Daan do you think I could use washers between the bead and rim with larger holes in the rubber to allow for them.
Mike
-
No flat rubber sheet with all the bolt holes in to compress between the flanges.

The automec kits are good I've used several in the past.

Surely the internal rear dimensions aren't much different to a vw. Perhaps some of there off the shelf options whilst costly could be modified to fit.

I've put them on all sorts of ways round and never hand an issue. The key is greasing. However I have read at some point that land rover say both to the front but I've also seen both to the transfer box. So I guess it depends on the model and the way the prop is made.
