I used to run remoulds I found no problems with them except the tend to wear quite quickly and I only ever got two years out of them before they seemed to perish however they were greenway machos (no longer exist) and I ran them on my daily driver giving them no sympathy.

I didn't lacquer 45 either and considering it's only been polished twice in 5 years both times before it went to ladoga it's held up well. To be honest I want it to look good for about the first month on the road after that I'll just want to drive it so scratches, dings and fading won't bother me.

Bet you can't guess where I carry mine. I will add we also use (until I get the ibex finished) a 90 csw but with two kids hence the trailer option. But back when it was just two of us the seconds xl used to sit on top of the spare wheel in the back of the tomcat nicely so you could strap it to the spare on the back. The only problem with roof boxes on a 90 is it's a long way up so you will either need space on a roof rack to stand by the side of it up there or a step ladder.

P.S. the wife just pointed out look for small sleeping compartments as they stay warmer. The only down side is you WILL get wet if you pack it up wet. Our 4.2 withstood 40mph winds on north uist this year.

Another vote for quecha pop up tents we have 3 different ones now we have a seconds xl (two man) a family 4.2 (four man two sleeping compartments) and a base xl (living area no sleeping compartment). As has been said depending on how kids are will dictate the sleeping arrangements but I wouldn't buy any other pop up as without spending double the amount none come close to quecha.

Just lump it in with the ewok forum it's the same car...no wait the c pillars are different.... Plus you will then have two posts in there!
Just maybe they don't break / need upgrading.. Sorry going now.

The back will probably get a window after IVA and the spare wheel will more than likely be on there to.

It doesn't show in the pictures but it is a bit orange peely and there is a few bits in it but hey I'm going to off road it so it really does only need to keep the water out. The biggest key is tenting the area well and extraction this one is definitely better than when I did 45 five years ago.

The really amusing bit is I wanted this colour but couldn't afford to buy it from a paint supplier. So I bought some gun metal grey paint off eBay on the basis it would be a dark non metallic grey paint. I hadn't even opened the tin until today as I had resigned myself to it being grey paint at a price I could afford. To say I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the tin 10mins before I was to start spraying is a massive understatement.

Slightly foggy picture,
Even with the extraction going it still got pretty foggy in there mind it did take 4 hours.
Four coats in total and I'm really happy with the finish (assuming it stays like that as it cures) there's no lacquer on it but I'm not planning on putting any on as it never seems to stay put any way.

I know a range rover/discovery tank won't fit a 110 but if I remember correctly it's only because the discovery tank goes up over one of the chassis rails. Other than that I think there similar but it's a long time since I looked at it.

Or you could download a Zeus book and measure it up properly. Sorry can't find the link right now.

Somebody has spent considerable time and money creating that monstrosity. I hope there happy with it!

Slightly smaller would be 3/8 unf around 9.5mm and 7/16 unf Is a shade over 11mm. Unf is a common fine thread on early British vehicles.

I totally agree the emergency services did exactly what they should. If the driver had been more careful none of it would of happened. The really funny part is even with that subtle sticker on the replacement thinners has been dropped as well though this one didn't leak.

Yeah but the only bit of galv that's seen is the bumper and rear cross member. I suppose you wanted me to polish the Ali too.

Sorry if it's posted before - but what's your spraying set up ?
Compressor and HVLP gun ?
I'm running two compressors one (25ltr) for air fed hood and one (50ltr) for HVLP gun plus a twister fan for extraction. This is the first time I've used a HVLP gun (my previous suction fed gun died while painting the inside) so we'll see how it comes out

It will be getting a top coat but it will be gloss dark grey so hopefully it won't look like primer to much.

Looks good in primer - a bit military like ?
Don't say that the wife is convinced I'm painting it battleship grey as it is. The pictures make it look more green than it is. This week will see it filler primed then top coat at the weekend.

Duralac is kind of like a paint and tefgel is a bit like a gooey copper slip both can be painted over. Tefgel is easier to disassemble but both act as barrier between dissimilar metals.

Anyone recognise these tubes?
in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)

Slightly wild guess but they look like the tube that goes from the windscreen hoop to above the B pillar on the roof of the land rover (and I use the term very loosely) roll cage. As fitted to if remember correctly some 50th anniversary, nas, svx, and g4.
