  1. If you don't go off-road much then why not just have either standard out of the factory set up which is very good at what it does or (the set up I used on my tomcat and now my 110) 1-2" lift springs plus dampers and leave everything else standard this is better off-road without to much comprise. gwyn Lewis knows his stuff as he makes the stuff he sells company's like extreme don't really care what they sell you as they don't make it. A good driver will take a standard truck any where a bad driver can take a challenge truck.

  2. I for the life of me can't understand why manufacturers don't make rear seats with adjustable seats and belts to eliminate the need for boosters. The US seats sound perfect have you spoken to some one at VOSA if you can get it in writing to police are powerless. I'm really interested to see where you end up. I've just bought a set of freelander seats to go in the 110 as I don't like the way the booster seat fit with current seats.

  3. Fab day :)

bought 4 bacon & egg rolls, 2 cups of tea and a portion of chips, totalling over 20quid!!:lol:

bumped into a multitude of people and had a great day.

And you wasted some of the egg!

I bought some peddle rubber, wing top vents and a full set of freelander seats in good condition now where's that welded they will fit a 110.

Had a good day mind I'm paying for it today probably shouldn't walk so far a week after an ankle op. The other half even picked her seat (the bloody drivers one) and carried it back to the truck while I pushed the pushchair result :-)

  4. Axles, gearbox etc all have breathers when a warm axle etc hits cold water the air and oil inside contracts causing a vacum if the end of the breather(normally terminated at the back of the head) is wet/underwater at the time the water gets pulled in mixes with the oil rendering it useless. There are breathers on both axles, gearbox, transferbox, injection pump and fuel tank. The timing chest doesn't have one but many people fit one in the blanking plate at the side of the water pump bell housing is another good one to do. If you never wade more than say a foot deep breathers are not a problem but it's cheaper to fit them than fix the problems caused by not having them.

  5. It goes to the heater there's a vacuum operated piston that closes the flap for air intake iirc. If its the plastic pipe the warm it remove the t and put a bit of correct size tube in unless your using the heater [:-)]

  6. Interesting read this. So is the conclusion that the temperature is controlled by the stat, in so far that it does the best it can with the heat sink available.

If the heat sink is very efficient, the engine temp is absolutely controlled by the stat. In marginal situations, the overall heat sink's performance mostly determines the engine temp, which is modulated by the stat

I think you have nailed it ^^

Nige sort your cooling then look at the stat :-b

    Hat coat out of here

  7. My understanding is the thermostat opening temp is the minimum temp the engine should run at therefore if you put a low thermostat in you will run cooler only in cold weather. This as far as I know will cause increased engine wear. Your problem is firmly in getting rid of heat as I said in your other post my tomcat had to much cooling thus my thermostat would close at 70mph on a cold day!

  8. I bought 5ltr of two pack when I sprayed 45 used about half of it. Plus about the same in primer. That was 1 dust coat and 3 proper coats. I took most the trim off opened all the doors and masked across the shuts I also took the spats and bonnet off. The roof was done stood through the sunroof then finish round the outside. You need to build a good poly tent please use extraction and you will need an air fed hood two pack very bad for you as are all paints. Metallic two pack gives a good finish and doesn't need lacquer.
