  1. Hi all, I have just installed LSDs front and back in my 1993 RRC LSE. On taking it to its mot, there was a loud clonking from the rear diff going around any corner. On returning home, I swapped the diff for a standard diff, all ok. So, I presume the diff is set to tight. Is there a way to reset this, or do I have to send it to a grown up. Thanks for your interest. Carl.
  2. Why don't you give Gwyn a call and have a chat. Nice man and he knows what he is on about.
  3. Hi there, have a look at the spark plugs. If you have one that looks like it has been steam cleaned!
  4. Hi all. A simple question. I am in the proses of swapping my engine for a je performance one. The heads have been gas flowed so the exhaust ports are bigger. Standard gaskets are too small, so I need larger ones! Where can I get these from? Thanks for any help. Carl.
  5. I understand where you are coming from, but I think it's gone past the point of no return!
  6. A J.E. 4.6 would be just the job. P.m. sent.
  7. I would so love to put an ls1 in it but......... not saying never just not now.
  8. Hi all, As per the title, I am in the market for a new engine for my lse. After rolling this around my head for a while, I have come to the conclusion that a turner 4.6 with gas flowed heads and a cam would fit my needs. Not cheep, but good rep and should give me what I want. The question is, what are the other alternatives for this kind of money. The truck is used as an overlander / camper, and as a fun truck. I intend to keep it for the forseable future, hense time to spend good money on something good. All imput will be greatly receved. I also have in mind to put ashcroft lockers in, and as I run 35in tyres, I need to change the ratio in the diff. I think there is someone on here that might be able to help with that. Thanks for any advice Carl
  9. Hi. yes it is an R.P.I. unit. If you have one, you can not loose. I would strongly advise you to fit it. The more miles put on the truck, the more I think it should have been done a long time ago.
  10. Just thinking I would let you guys Know how this went. I must admit, I was a bit dubious about this bit of electrickery. Bit of a fiddle to time up. The wiring was simple, about 30m. Then had to time it up. I could not get enough advance on the dizy, so had to move one cog. Set the timing at 15 degree btdc, then just turned the nob on the adjustable retard, simples. Now after about 200m, I must say I,m very impressed! Smoother tickover on both LPG and petrol. Much more willing to rev on gas, and the power on gas is about as good as the petrol was. The power on petrol has also improved. I can only say I should have done this a long time ago.Tank you.
  11. Bumped into a friend in the pub yesterday, he asked me if I would look at a LSE softie for him. So, I turned up this morning, the car is in norfolk "from cheltenham". No worries. Would I mind driving. No worries. The car he wants me to drive is a new TDV8! What a day, what a car. LSE good so we had that as well.
  12. Then they made the LSE 108in wb.
  13. Had a look at my truck this morning, the winch cable and hook have gone!I'm going to have to keep an eye open because chances are they will be back for the winch and bumper soon. A few tack welds should slow them down a bit.
  14. Yes, but you will damage the pump!
  15. Hi, if the transfer box is engaged, could be you didn't line up the torque converter with the oil pump drive. Easily done.
  16. I'm getting about 12 general running around. About 15 on a run. The car is a 93 lse 4.2, with 35in tyres, so not bad. Thats on lpg.
  17. Hi there. Yes it is. Cut the internal part of the spat off, and attach with pop rivets. Have a look at my profile picture.
  18. Yes they did mate, had one on one of mine. It had the black or dark grey interior.
  19. Hi there, that's your ABS ring. Should Knock out. It will only be held in with rust etc
  20. Hi all. I am just about to swap the gearbox on my 93 LSE. The new box has an LT on it. Do I keep the LT on it, or swap it for the BW. The RR runs on 35s, so will be changing the gearing soon. Pros and cons, what do you guys think.
  21. Every year, for two weeks over christmas, the Queensland cops do a big clampdown in Noosa. They also bring there wives and kids. Funny that, same time every year!
  22. That looks good mate, did Fraser about 15 years ago and the folks still live in Noosa. Makes me want to go back for a visit.
  23. Hi there, as for the shock removal. Use a strap of some sort, I ues an old safty belt with a bar of some sort. There is no order to removal and fitting.
  24. Hi there, sounds like the cam to me. Take the rocker covers off, and check that all the valves are opening.
