  6. Hi ur better of when u need something paying the one off topix fee and at least u will know its accurate and up to date.
  7. This is normal for the later tank Due to the amount u have spent I would recommend if u have a 1.8 to fit the coolant level sensor mod as will save the engine if the level drops As for ur loss I suspect it's the heater matrix ??
  8. Hi saw a policy letter from Lr at work regarding the new fuel unleaded e10 contains less fossil fuel derived content according to the letter ANY land rover from 1996 on will run ok on the fuel this is good as some garages are going to stop selling normal unleaded and only e10 and super according to many papers / magazines
  9. Hi in the v is a straight pipe with 2 O rings and a 90o pipe both made of plastic and go brittle over time and leak and will fall apart when u try to remove them best to replace both Hope this helps
  10. Could be a broken wire in the rear door shut area they can break and still make contact every now and then or it's the rear wiper motor not going to the park position which then allows the window to move
  11. Hi It's your throttle body at the front of the engine near the radiator it's driven by a dc motor that's why it makes that noise ( throttle body is used to create a vacume for the egr system to flow )
  12. To test ignition on in reverse (engine off) And u can listen to the sensors they will be clicking if working ok. Apart from the rear step Most of the time it's the rear loom corroded and failing
  13. Over finch sell all parts u will need or guy salmon land rover are official partners to over finch they might help also
  14. Have u taken the fuel filter off and turned the ignition on to check fuel flow as the in tank pump can cause this also check the fuel cut of switch in the engine bay push it down it will click is tripped Also the fuel pump in the tank are prone to leak air into the fuel system. There are plastic pipes on the pump that split and suck air to check the fuel tank must be full eg pump fully covers or remove the pump and inspect all pipes inside on the pump.
  15. Hi I have a disco 2 on 255/55r18 good years and want some thing more aggressive looking does 90% on road My qurstion is what tyre size can I fit it's a es with ace and air at rear. I don't want to do any mods just straight fit Thanks
  16. It could be the hydraulics or the plate can crack and then flex on the gear box where the slave cylinder mounts on Check the fluid level in the master ( top up with brake fluid ) Or could just be a worn clutch ??
  17. Yes there's a dummy thermostat u must fit just the outer with no inner part and new outer seal if u don't it affects the flow round the liners and u get hot spots, there is also a modified thermostat colour gray that opens earlier that does not come with the hose mod kit. Fitted it to mine and it runs nice and cool temp never goes above normal and heater is nice and quick to warm up. Also a good mod is to fit the coolant level sensor to the pipe out of the tank. Pre 1a u just fit a jump wire to the engine looms After 1a u wire it to the ecu and will req a dealer engine down load to work. Both put the engine warning light on the dash when the level gets low (does not store a code) easy to reset just to up level. Hop this helps
  18. If u have the remote thermostat mod and a system in good condition with Lr antifreeze at 50/50 you won't have a problem Save your money
  19. I had the same on my 1.8 thought it was a earth fault but turned out to be the ignition switch failing easy to change and not to expensive.
  20. Hi agree with fridge freezer sounds like prop bearings and do not waste your money on Brit part ones I also tried them also lasted just weeks and no refund (so much for a 3yr warranty)
  21. Hi the fault was probably due to the rear hallex unit (connects the rear prop to the diff to make it 4x4) there are issues with them either the pumps stop working or block up due to the clutch pack plates breaking up or the ecu on the side goes wrong. Lr brought out a service action/ recall for a auto box and hallex downloads. To help save the unit.
  22. Hi is your freelander a 1.8 or td4 1.8 unusually it's the end bracket on the Ird on the o/s cracks and vibrates or on td4 it's the heat shield on the ird where it goes over the breather pipe try bending it a bit and see if the noise stops or changes. Hope this helps
  23. Hi if the pas resoviour is at the correct level and with the engine on open the pas cap if u see lots of bubbles or foaming your pump as the culprit recommend changing the resoviour also as its the filter as well. Hope this helps
