  1. Yeah seen a few places selling them for under £100 a tyre.
  2. Dont wanna go out and get a set and have to replace them often due to side wall punctures etc... just for the sake of saving a few quid per tyre.
  3. the hankooks also look a lot wider compared to the other 2. might look into these what about side wall grip?
  4. How about creepy crawlers/ or silverstone simex copies? just done a bit more digging into the KL71 and they dont seem too strong or grippy in certain conditions.
  5. The hankook's dont seem very agressive and the tread blocks seem quite close together though.
  6. Im looking into a set of 35's soon for my bobtail and these seem to be pretty cheap and seem to have good write ups but just wondered what people thought of them on here? will be used for all sorts green-laning , events, challenges and on road but road manners dont matter much.. also looking at creepy crawlers or some used simex / fedima's
  7. Good point never thought of that. the one in the pic was only a 8000Ilb and that just fitted between the rails..
  8. Not sure which tray you are going to be using but the one i had fitted on my RRC sat between the chassis legs behind the bumper.. i have attached a few pics so you can see what i mean. im on the lookout for another as its neatly tucked away and gives a good approach angle compared to a winch bumper.
  9. Really i would of thought i would of had problems. i might give it all a quick check over then or maybe upgrade a few bits. I dont want to use my T/B as its a auto locking borg warner and want a manual lock one. also want a newer gearbox as in the 300TDi disco's with reverse down under 5th and not next to reverse.
  10. Yes that is not right at all. it should of flown up there with no problems at all. Could be half shaft gone possibly preventing the other side from getting any drive.
  11. Im going to be converting my 89 3.5 EFi manual to a 4.6 soon and was wondering what running gear im going to have to run to prevent it breaking. As im sure the current stuff wont be man enough for the extra power.. I also need to convert the 4.6 from an auto to a manual, so what flywheel clutch sytem etc will i need to run? And what would be the ideal box/T-box to use? Sorry for all the Q's but better asking early on in the project to cover the expected costs.
  12. Thats a pain i was hoping that everything was away from the engine management, I dont really want an auto so im gonna have more fun making a box and clutch system work on it to.
  13. Im still not sure what im doing about a box etc... i might keep an auto box out of the salvage P38, Diffs might also either swap to the P38 axles or uprate my current ones. Surely instead of converting to gems or another running system, the standard 4.6 loom and running system would be cheapoer and easier to use as its already something i will have available.
  14. Cool that sounds a bit better, just dropping the engine in as it is and then run 3.9 wiring just with a chip to up fuel etc.. What about the entire loom from the 4.6? would this work or would it be a pain to plumb into my 3.5 loom?
  15. So there aint much i really need from the donar car? its all swapped from my 3.5 unit? Why do manifolds etc have to be swapped?
  16. Right my engine is not far from needing a rebuild but its only done 54k...... Getting quite noisy and bits of metal in the oil. So have always said when it goes im replacing with a 4.6 so what is involved and what will i need to convert my 3.5 EFi into a 4.6?? im thinking of buying a complete p38 so i have everything or would it not be much work to just get the engine??
  17. Ouch thats some serious money.... i keep meaning to get mine in for it but i cant afford that sort of cash while owning a landy its near on impossible.!! Does it also defiantly mean a 'Q' plate after the test?
  18. yteah all i can suggest has already been said. as when i firsat got my RRC it had been stood for a while. make sure its all lubed and clean and check the inlet pipe from afm to inlet chamber.
  19. yeah they are a bit of a pain to get on once they are free.
  20. i know mine were on my RRC but the bulb holder twists out from inside the wing. not sure if it would be the same on your 90 though.
  21. been looking at these for a while but the 35" stand almost 37~" tall which is a bit too much for me i think.
  22. Sorry also mailorder4x4 do some and will make a package up to suit you. cant seem to find bumper only though. http://www.mailorder4x4.com/acatalog/Defen...ge_Winches.html
  23. Also found one here on Guardian's site. http://www.guardianoffroadproducts.co.uk/c...id,0/Itemid,11/
  24. im sure most companies do a vast selection, seen quite a few of these for sale found this one if its any good for you? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Defender-...%3A1%7C294%3A50
  25. if you want something fairly basic i would stay away from pay and play sites for a while. im sure you should find plenty of good green lanes around for you to practice in.
