  1. Alright lads. I am currently on a long trip to Malaysia and back in my defender 130Tdi and iam currently in Kyrgyzstan where everything was going well till the police stopped me as my headlights were not working. Checked the fuses everything okay,checked the bulbs everything okay,my guess is the light relay switch on the steering column what do you think. Bye the way the sidelights are working, fullbeam is working but not the halfbeam. Anybody got any ideas. Many Thanks for your help.

  3. The more deterrents the better. I have a Meck lock, Clutch Claw, and Disklock, like I say the more the better.
  4. Cheers Anderzander Just googled it and it's is a 525 what goes on the V8 and a 550 on a 300 Tdi Don't know if the diameter is the same though.. Looks pretty much the same.
  5. Can anybody tell me the inside & outside diameter of the top of the pipe next to the snorkel head. The landy is in storage at the moment, and i need to buy some Droopie Uni filters for our overland trip to Indonesia next year. Cheers.
  6. Many thanks for all your help lads very much appreciated. Just reading Ian's account with his new clutch. Like he said it is more of a low grumble and seems to disappear after I have done 30 mile or so.Maybe I should give it time to bed in. Or should I get a second opinion. Just had a new clutch fitted + new release bearing and spigot bush The clutch makes quite a loud noise when it is ticking over,with the clutch pedal up.if I press the clutch pedal down the noise disappears. Took it back to the garage and they told me this is normal with a new spigot bush and it will wear in Can anybody tell me if this is true or not. It used to be as quite as a door mouse.Many thanks for your help.
  8. Be aware be sure to use the right respiratory equipment. Most etch primers contain carcinogen. Just applying them with a roller is not a problem, but if you are going to spray it is is a different story.

  11. Many thanks for all your replys, the thing is we are planning to ship to aus next year then drive back to the UK. At the mo i have TJM gold shocks under, and feels a little soft. I was thinking about placing the terrafirma double shock mod, but then i would have to move both the diesel filters at the rear. (Defender 130) So now judging form what everybody says i think its going to be stiffer shocks. What do you think Koni or TJM Cheers
  12. Thinking about putting Terrafirma Rear Twin Shock Mount Kit on my 130. Does anybody know if i will have to fit 30mm wheel spacers. I am running on heavy duty steel wheels and was wondering if one of the shock would catch the tyre without the spacers. Cheers for your help
  13. At work we use edge sealer from 3m to seal all decals on aircraft. Brilliant stuff
  14. Won't be a lot better to try and get the other LR forum's on board, there must be at least another half a dozen out there
  15. Allright lads. Had the same problems a few months ago, and found out that the circlip to the wastegate had come off, hence the loss of power and black smoke. Bit of a fiddly job to get the exhaust manifold off, but the circlip only cost 2 quid or so and a new manifold gasket. Mornings work. Good Luck

  18. Can anybody tell us the size of the Split pin/clip to hold actuator on to wastegate, and how to get the bugger on. Cheers
  19. The noise comes when turning the steering wheel while in stationary position and when moving. Its on a 130 2006 with 47000 on the clock. Hope this helps Cheers
  20. Very sorry if this topic has been on here before, only iam on Mull at the moment and dont have time to do a search. ( Shared computer) The Problem is when i turn the sterring wheel there seems to be a bonking noise coming from underneath, from around the sterring arms,(Wheel Bearings was my first thought ????? ) not had enough time to jack it up yet as it is throwing it down big time. Any thoughts would be appricated. Also is it something that i need to get seen to as soon as poss or can it wait it i get home in a few weeks, then i can do it back home. Many Thanks Lads
