  1. Front only I think - without the name underneath - that way the price can be kept down. Count me in provided they make them big enough
  2. Boswells - no website as far as I am aware - based in Didcot but have outlets across the South of England including the Brunel Centre here in Swindon.
  3. Right, I managed to get a look at the thing this weekend (at home in daylight for once!). The clutch pedal arm is damp so I am pretty sure the leak is from the master cylinder, dribbling fluid down the pedal arm onto the floor rubber mat, which also shows signs of dampness immediately under the pedal. The master cylinder is pretty well dry and the pedal goes more or less striaght to the floor now and will not pump up pressure. I could not start it to see if I could get it into gear as the main battery is almost flat again I couldn't be bothered to jump start it off the yellow top Optima as it seemed slightly pointless to leave it running parked at the roadside to charge the battery as it won't drive It jumpstarts easy enough off the other battery. I just wish I knew why the (fairly new) red top Optima keeps going down. I think the best thing would be to have a replacement master cylinder and then look at refurbing the old one with new seals, which I may be able to do myself as I have done a brake master cylinder successfully in the past. Les, would you be able to have a look at some stage. You would have to come out to me (I don't live in Highworth by the way ) as I wouldn't be able to get it to you without a clutch...... I could drop the keys round to yours one evening. Cheers
  4. Thanks Les (AKA 'trusty mechanic') It didn't seem to improve with pumping, I did try that as I am used to that problem with braking systems on old cars I was pushed for time so I didn't check anything much on Saturday but I might be able to get out there one evening this week and check the fluid level. I had used the truck the previous weekend and everything was fine. Drove it around town (plenty of gearchanging) and I noticed no difference in the clutch feel then. As soon as I got in it this weekend I noticed the problem straight away. I will check for leakage from the slave cylinder. The floor mat has seemed to be damp on occasions under the clutch pedal and I will see if I can detect fluid on the pedal arm. I might give the 'taste test' a miss though Will let you know what I find. If it is the master cylinder - roughly how much do you reckon for a replacement unit?
  5. I went to use the 110 on Saturday and when I put my foot on the clutch it felt odd, in that the first few inches of travel were simply the return spring stretching, followed by the normal clutch feel when the pedal was about halfway down. I started the engine and drove round the block. At first gear changing was OK but after a while, the gearchange became more difficult. What do you think, is it more likely to be the master cylinder or the slave cylinder? Whichever it is I will probably have to enlist the services of my trusty mechanic to do the work as I simply don't have the time to do it myself at the moment and I hate working on hydraulics
  6. Nothing Land Rover related this year at all I did get: A new pair of motorcycle boots A new pair of motorcycle gloves Long Way Round picture book Shirt Sox Hankies Clarkson DVD Various other books Cufflinks ...and I spent a happy day yesterday fitting a new exhaust to the 110 (gas tight seal first time ) Back in the office today
  7. Thanks everyone. I will try and get hold of the genuine bit and then try and find some time (or someone) to fit it.
  8. I need to get a new exhaust for my 300Tdi 110CSW as the back bit has fallen off It was looking a bit crusty when it went in for MOT earlier this year and the other day I noticed that the exhaust note changed while I was driving it and it sounded much rortier - turns out the back end of the rear silencer has blown out completely... The question is this: Do I replace with a standard exhaust rear section - I think that the rest of the system is OK - or do I swap it for some other system and, if so, what works best. I do some off-roading and so it does get dunked in muddy water from time to time but the vast majority of the vehicle's use is long-haul road miles. It would be good to find a system that improves gas flow (and exhaust note) while still being reasonably robust. I am not that keen to go down the stainless route. Does anyone have any suggestions. What works well? Gordon
  9. Good Luck Will and Lucy - hope all goes smoothly.
  10. Anagram of first name which I have used since I was at school.
  11. Will certainly be there on Saturday - maybe Sunday as well. Si, I assume you are TVP based at ME in Colwell Drive... Go on - borrow one of the company cars - Faringdon's was nice and clean last time I saw it
  12. I see I have got the "Should be an Enthusiast" back - thanks. I hate to think what you would come up with Les if I left it to you.....!
  13. Double posting by accident - sorry!
  14. Coming down on Saturday and staying until Friday when we are off home to pick up the Stag to go to the Stag Owners Club National Weekend at the Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire, which should be fun if the weather stays good. Gordon
  15. Holiday was excellent, a week in southern Brittany. As it was just Anne and myself we went on the bike rather than in the truck so fuel worked out quite a bit cheaper. Off to Cornwall on Saturday, with the kids this time, staying in Boscastle, which should be fun if not as relaxing as last week! Gordon
  16. What was the N30 then...? Never heard of it - I wasn't there - can't prove anything officer.... Any scandalous suggestions by White90 that I was there are vigorously denied... Gordon
  17. Les, can I have my old sig transferred over or will I have to come up with a new one? Gordon
  18. Just got back from holiday and found that things had changed at the old place, wandered over to ORRP and found the link to here. I had just got my post count up above 500 as well after 4 years! Gordon
