  1. To be honest Mo it was a complete surprise to me! Three rows of boxes, so I guessed the top was for user name, second came up with little stars so I guessed password and third had to be my e-mail. I wish I could say I can read Russian, but that would be a big fib!
  2. Thanks, but I can't find nothing other than that Gresh is quite active on other forums. So I will take it from that, they are doing reasonably OK under the circumstances?
  3. Now your showing off! Hungarian, English and now Russian!
  4. Is that landrovernet.com Les?
  5. Does anyone know how Gresh and family are doing? I don't want to start a big public debate, so maybe PM. Cheers, Paul
  6. Well I checked out as much as I could. Then I had to get the help in of an auto electrician. He had it for a morning and admitted he was baffled. Whilst it was in I was reading the other electrical gremlin thread on here so mentioned Simonr's comment about the earth above the clutch pedal on the bulkhead. Turned out that was the problem! Cheers, Paul
  7. I'm in! Do I get a prize for working out how to register! http://avtokosmos.ru/forum/showthread.php?p=2186#post2186
  8. Gutted Cip, Won't get back until the 29th now, so will miss the whole event. Are you going to see any of it on the ground?
  9. Hi McS Junior, As you are posted to Germany I take it you are with the Army? As such when you register your vehicle you will BFG it with the MOD so will not be paying any road tax. You will also have a monthly allowance for subsidized fuel, which is a big bonus. Regarding left hand drive Disco's you need to to PM rejo. He lives in Holland has a LHD Disco and knows the best places to look for them, cheap! However, the headache you will then have is registering a vehicle to BFG from a Dutch owner in Holland. We all kept our RHD vehicles with no problem. You drive a lot more on motorways in DE so the need for LHD is not as important as you would think. Cheers, Paul
  10. No, not tried that yet, but will, thanks. Paul
  11. Checked the earths that I could find and cleaned them up. Wipers only come on occasionally now when headlights are put on. Stopped when indicating left. So an improvement but not resolved. Grrrrr
  12. I will check out all the earths tomorrow. Thanks for the tips. Just found this on earths which is useful.
  13. Got it running again by attaching the red/white cable back on. What a faff that was! However, wipers still come on with lights, so I will check earth out as you say in the morning. Why would it suddenly start with a problem like this now when starter changed? Something disturbed? I also found what looks like an earth point at front of engine block. Not much to it though. I was expecting something much more substantial.
  14. Well, there are two big connectors on the starter which I presume are pos + neg and one small white a red cable above the two big connectors. Had a look with mirror on a metal pole. Sparks everywhere! Anyway the red and white wire slipped off, not tight at all. Can't get it back on as can't see naff all and can't get my hand in. I take it that with that off you have nothing? Well I haven't anyway. I will have another go in the morning as it is raining now.
  15. Thanks, I will go and have a look now.
  16. I have a 1994 Defender 110. Last week I had a winch installed and the starter motor changed two days later. Since then whenever I indicate to the left or flash the headlamps (both switches to left side of console) the windscreen wiper activates also x1. This has never happened before and just seems to be too big a coincidence not to be related to this recent work. To be honest, I cannot remember the problem occurring after the winch installation. It seems to be related to the starter change. Any ideas, because it is driving me mad! Cheers, Paul
  17. Hi, Due to my wife loosing her Nanny this week, I am staying over an extra week. If there is anything going on in Shropshire this weekend, please let me know. Cheers, Paul
  18. Where did you buy it from and how much if you don't mind me asking?
  19. Did your old one give way completely? What were the symptoms? Where did you buy your Bearmach one from?
  20. Did your just clean it up or did you replace it?
  21. Thanks Cip, that is really helpful. I did put starter in the search finder but didn't see these.
  22. Thanks for that Les. It does start eventually, but sometimes can take several goes before she fires up. It also seems to be worse first thing in the morning? P.S How do you get to the damn thing. It seems impossible from top or bottom. Do you need to take the down pipe of the exhaust off first?
  23. Hi, My starter motor has just started playing up. Not the usual problem of clicking and nothing else. It runs away as if going to do something but doesn't engage, if that makes sense. I have a 200Tdi Defender 1994. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Thanks, Paul
  24. I know a great place in Transylvania, but you could probably teach me more about LR's!
  25. That is very interesting as I spoke with Adrian Flux yesterday and they said they would insure for business use in the UK but strictly no business use outside of the UK under any circumstances.
