  1. I have the commercial version which came out of the factory with no rails .. dont know why being a commercial you'd think they'd come in handy .... Anyway all depends on what else you have done to the disco to balance up the lack of bars.
  2. To remove the horizontal bars is simple there is a spring catch. To remove the rails you need to take out the interior headliner and unbolt them from inside ! Not a pleasant or quick job to do ! TPK
  3. Thats one nice looking disco http://www.islandrover.is/islandrover/uplo...mot_2004/89.jpg
  4. Thanks Tonk .. thats great info ... those pneumatic components will do for joining my existing breathers to longer lengths too !
  5. Really ? cool, never heard of this ... just drill and tap all these to fit a banjo is it ?
  6. Fair comment ... Actually i have some spare bits of the new pipe from the axle lengths so i'll get some joiners and make it easy Anyone have any comments on fitting the timing cover breather ? I have heard some for and some against the idea ?
  7. X2 on the seat tilting That commercial dog guard is well noisy. Just removed mine for the same reasons. Makes it feel like you got alot more space.
  8. If you want silicon call Allisport .. thats where i got mine ..
  9. I take it this is the preffered method ? Its just the new kit i have has got new banjo connections etc ... Is it too much of a PITA to replace the whole pipe then ? Thanks, TPK
  10. Hi All, Got a new wading kit for my 1996 D1 Manual box .... Anyone got any tips on the best way to access the breather pipes for gear and transfer box ? Also where are they ? Thanks in advance TPK
  11. Hi all, I have been offered this kenlowe fan real cheap from a 96' Clio Diesel. Its a 15" Fan. Will this be ok for a 96' Disco 300TDI ? I know i'll have to fix it in somehow but wondered whether the fan motor was up to the job ? Cheers TPK
  12. I believe its STC4379 ... This is the kit with oil seals etc .. all you need to swap the flange Its well worth doing ... apparently the non serviceable UJ's in the DC joint dont last long but i am gonna wear these out and replace with heavy duties cos at the mo they seem sound. TPK
  13. Sorted it .. just need a helping foot on the brake and a scaffold tube on the breaker bar ! Now running TD5 DC prop and no vibes !!! feels like new again

  23. I have chopped out my arches to fit flares to the old disco ... What i have found now is they are weak as hell and after doing a day on the plains with lots of underwater action the drivers wing is now flapping all over the shop !!! Basically the panel has seperated from the upright that bolts in front of the door, could i use liquid metal or something to bond this back onto the wing panel ? I want to avoid pop rivets all down the wing really ! Lastly does anyone have any ideas or experience is strengthening them up or adding additional mounting points ? THX TPK
