  1. theres no oil in the loom anywhere. ill try a spare injector harness to see if that cures it but i did check that a few weeks ago it it was dry as a nuns @ gromit... nanocom was showing 1.1bar exactly so i backed it off to 1.02 to see if that cured it. made no difference what so ever. ive swapped actuators to no avail all pipework is good i forgot to mention its a 10p engine and its just done 11k from new i tried it today with no ambient sensor connected and its made it batter with it only doing it occasionally now. but i dont think its related. its just having a good day ill try a regulator tomorrow and my spare engine loom dan
  2. hope someone can help me out. my td5 90 keeps kangaroo'ing a typical overboost symptom. however its running at a nice steady 1.02bar in 3rd or 4th gunning it up a hill. it pulls in every gear fine until it hits 3400rpm then it just kangaroo's on me it doesnt do it all the while just at random times. when its running fine ( the engine just feels different ) it'll happily rev past 3400 until i bottle it and change gear so far ive.. -checked/adjusted the boost -checked fuel pressure which gives a constant 4.0bar at all rpm ranges and when it playes up -changed fuel pump just in case as old un was noisey -new fuel filter -swapped air flow meter but both were showing around 60gph at idle -swapped map sensors -ran it with no airflow meter -cleaned crank sensor now i have swapped to a different ecu with a different state of tune map on it, then it runs and pulls fine with no issues, But the suspect ecu runs fine on my other td5 and a friends aswel i was thinking of putting my spare regulator on to give that a try ? does anyone else have any pointers or come accross this problem before as its bugging me now cheers
  3. to be honest g, it wasnt that bad and the cage wasnt comprimised enough to fail scruitineering again, but it just didnt look right nor would a trust it again in a roll of that nature. so atm its currently got no cab on ready for me to chop the front section of the cage off to replace the hoop. ive only just got back off my hols so will be starting work on it again soon, ill e-mail pics accross for you when ive got 5. see you at round 3 or if not before dan
  4. ask charles if he didnt send them to you as i no he took one of it. and everyone has to topple over it part of the fun im waiting for tom to tell me when twiggy aint around so we can weld some castor wheels onto his roof
  5. gutted the photo om me on my side hasnt been put up even though a few were taken i wanted a chuckle oh being stuck in dalaman airport in turkey for 9 hours isnt fun either
  6. ill be there its only 5 mins litrally up the road just like twiggy. dont exactly no what the 90 will look like after the break, or even if it'll still be a 90 the roll made a bigger mess than i thought, gods knows what it landed on when it went over Matt its worth making a note to people trailering to the site that they need to come to the site uphill as there isnt the room to turn into the site coming from mow cop down the hill. dan
  7. when i converted my comp truck to td5 i retained the normal underslung tank and fitted the pump to that. which left me with how to make new pipes due to the old ones being made from nylon. so i just used some 5/16th rubber fuel line from work, cut the fittings off the old pipes and then pushed the new hose on and jubilee clipped them down. had no problems what so ever. i dont see any reason why you cant do that to any td5 and move the filter into the engine bay. i kept mine by the tank as i would think pumping it up to the engine bay then back down at low pressure would drop the flow abit, but i dont no dan
  8. what a excellent event. loved every minute of it despite looking at some sections and thinking it would be easier to buy a quad and compete with that due to it being so tight a section. a big thanks to all the marshal's at the event as you were all brilliant and i couldnt ask for a better bunch. also thank you for all the marshals, and the team ( sorry i dont no your names ) who put me back onto my wheels after a slight f-up on SS2, allbeit much to my own and the marshals amusement however i can safely say i have seen the funniest thing this year so far in watching twiggy trying to get back into his motor after assisting with his flat tyre. it was like watching a stranded cow stuck in mud looking all sorry for itself see you all at the next round now im off to striaghten out all the bent panels and cage dan
  9. could do with a team mate just to tow me around
  10. i dont no how ive managed it. ive amazed myself its even been through a full days testing last sunday with no miether........ just wait until saturday now itll play up within 10 mins damn thing see you all tomorrow night dan
  11. have any final instructions been sent out yet ? sit down lads for this, but the 90's ready for the trailer a whole 2 nights before the even....not the morning of the event as per normal
  12. is this the same dave sharp that competes in the BAD challenges ? as i cant say ive ever seen arms like that on his motor before. in another respect, even qt had issues with there arms so you cant just go and slate another company. however qt services customer relations is excellent so i cannot pick fault at all with them....and if rds cannot do that then they deserve all that they get. good luck with your fight
  13. buy no means was it an attack i was simply making a point that jims winches use the same sealing system. it was by no means intended to start an argument which was the way you took it. i personally dont care how or what is used to build the winch aslong as its reliable o-rings keep in line with the " kiss " rule and are very quickly and cheaply replaced i hope you dont see the need to continue with this debate as this is yet another superb piece of engineering and ill certainly be buying one for my rear winch. dan
  14. come across and join in as you always seem to be stood on your own which is not what these challenges are all about. its just as much a social event/ general p*** take as a competition dan
  15. twiggy you have no idea how much your little punts made me laugh there. almost spat my drink over the laptop
  16. your the one who said it was a amateurish way of making a piston seal. i was simply stateing the fact as the gigglepin winches use the same system.as of yet ive never had a problem with my gp winch.
  17. yes both do IIRC from the past 2 years of going are you going this one ? are you going the 2day corwen event next week aswel ?
  18. get your entry in twiggy....that is if you dont get lost on the way to the postbox aswell
  19. so are you calling the gigglepin winches amateurish aswel then as the piston on them is sealed with 0-rings
  20. wont the site be suitable for 2wd drive motors
  21. twiggy you could of rang me , i wouldnt of minded the run down with your tent poles
  22. you can get fogging oil to spray into the inlet whilst the engine is running. most marine places have it.if you struggle give me a ring and i can sort you out. its about 11quid a tin but will soon check tomorrow dan
  23. im lacking more of a land rover than a monkey atm barney still in little bits after round two
