  1. Matts busy im sorry Take barney up on his offer
  2. Fantastic event loved every minute of it Very well set out and a fantastic turnout of marshal's, but f me it was cold, wish we had gone to the hotel with kev and dan. Best moment of the day had to be watching barry roll the tomcat, then try to get the punch again only to drive up the tree which rolled him in the first place resulting in the tomcat standing on its nose Me and saley couldnt stand for laughing. Cant wait for round two when hopefully the couple of little ( and i mean little) teething problems should be sorted out with the bulldog Dan
  3. Seen as my truck isnt built and im now co-driving this weekend for dean, ill ask pricey my co-driver if he is up for it Ill let you know tomorrow Dan
  4. i run a single albrite on each winch motor So ive got 5 of the buggers to look after ! I run 24v all the time when under load 12v no load Like barney has said, freespool makes a massive difference thats why ive fitted another gp winch to the rear Dan
  5. i run a dedicated 24v alt Nothing to go wrong really then, mines a 80amp feeding twin optima's which then feed two twin motor gp winches Upping the gearing wont really give youna faster line speed under load as the bowmotor wont have enough balls on 12v to produce enough torque to keep the line speed up You might even find it slower on some hard pulls I ran a bow one on a box std 8274 for 3 years on the back overvolted and it would keep up with hydraulic winches Dan
  6. its how you use them to make them last, also cleaning them out after every event Mine sits at 28v with the engine running, you shouldnt be getting any more Pulse the winch when powering in or out I didnt have freespools for ages infact ive only just got freespool on my back winch.... Now run twin gigglepins Bow 2's front Bow 1's rear Dan
  7. isolators for each system so i can choose But i can also link together to produce 36v...... Now thats evil to 12v motors ! I was running my 24v system before david came out with his turbo box
  8. im sorry but its taken me 3 years to " melt ' a motor on 24v through 12v And that was because i refused to hit a 3ft wide tree that i was sat staring at which was 80ft down the hill that id just reversed up with the rope making horrid noises. I decided i wanted to get down quickly so didnt switch down to 12v
  9. I first heard about it on monday Such a shame to loose a lad of my age in this sport and my thoughts go out to all family, friends and club members. I did hear that it was a buggy, but cannot confirm Dan
  10. Make sure your no where near our tent I still have nightmares about saleys snoring so god help me next weekend
  11. Are you going G ? I might be there bitching for saley
  12. You can get the solenoids from gigglepin Aroumd 20 quid iirc Ot if you speak to saley his are just a manual switch valve that doesnt even require any 12v feed
  13. Not a very long list Come on lads get them entries in Cant wait to get back out after the winter break
  14. Personaly im not that bothered what i compete against and people should stop being mard arses Ill be selecting the rounds that i do which are close ish to home Mainly because of fuel costs ect I do intend on entering a few But ill wait to hear on feedback about this event with regards to how its set out section wise Quite a few were not happy with how the punches were put into fixed one direction sections. I only did one event ( bitching for boothy at kirton) I wasnt overly keen on them but i still liked it for some reason Dan
  15. Autobox with a diesel mated to it !
  16. I usually just attatch the winch to an rsj and lift the required end into the air However if its not my comp truck Then i jack up, sit chassis on big axle stands Remove wheels and lower down
  17. Im not being funny dave Bull in all honesty, i couldnt give a toss if " mr msa " isnt keen on solenoids, mine will be running a solenoid system to kill the 24v winch setup It will have the old style key isolator in line aswel just in case, which has been around for years and never been a problem until these idiots came along recently
  18. Barney read it again He is saying hydraulics to drive the wheels
  19. Thanks for pointing that out dave Appears that some scruits need to go back to school ! Im safe anyhows its slap bang in the middle
  20. Can someone reach it from the outside though and turn them off ? As i believe thats another problem as ive been told by a scruitineer Dan
  21. I doubt it will show up any fault codes unless the afm has gone down Itll proberly have injector open circuits logged or current but that doesnt exactly mean theres a problem with the injector Unless when the engine running the cylinder balances are all over the shop Fuel filter heads are well known for being porous and leaking Has the pressure regulator sprung a leak ? If your pumps gone noisy then its poss air in the system Or it could also be the pump Best thing to do is pressure test the fuel system and see what the pump is kicking out if you cant see anything obviously wrong
  22. This is the method im going to adopt aswel dave as i have both 12 and 24v circuits on my motor 12 v dedicated to the land rover 24v for the winches
  23. I had this headache a while ago My conclusion was just do the kin test and be done with it No ifs and ars and listening to people debating it or listening to different police officers saying different things Get the test done and then its done with Tow what you like aslong as its within the legal limits Just my opinion as this comes up quite often Dan
  24. What was up with the engine before hand ?
