  1. Is the oil level ok? as this is common rail if the seals leak it can end up in the sump. How did you check they are tight and not leaking?
  2. The mountings are the same for the light units, but just make sure you can get orange bulbs with opposed pins as the standard ones will not fit properly.
  3. Have you checked the voltage in and out of the ignition switch? That is between the fusebox and the relay. HTH.
  4. If it continues at this rate we may have to settle for a top ten result! would be good to get an idea of how many people are definitely going.
  5. Could be our best result of the year! that means we'll each have about 100 acres each to play with!!
  6. Try here http://www.rustoleumdirect.co.uk/pdfs/Rust...%20Topcoats.pdf
  7. I only managed to take a few photos on the sunday Old Sulehay Jim and Adrian Ben and Simon
  8. what, fix it straight afterwards when we could leave it until just before the next event and then work into the night to be ready? what a revolutionary idea!! I think we'll just carry a spare 5 litre can it'll be easier! anyway the skittles helped the fuel guage on the co-driver.
  9. I did see the full list briefly, but it was upside down and we were on page 2 but that was not a suprise as we scored zero in friday.
  10. next time we should have a roll cage and some time to get used to it before the first day! well thats the plan anyway!! and maybe even some door seals?
  11. Great event as usual, we especially enjoyed the hail coming in at 90 degrees yesterday whilst we were in a mud hole
  12. Stibbington is a nice little site, near wansford. some rock sections an a few through trees on side slopes. we may go to Sulehay, always fun in the soft sand
  13. We've just got a few bits to do and then we'll be about ready. no idea what sites are being used this year, but isn't that half the fun?
  14. We're planning to be there at 10am so should arrive about noon.
  15. If you go to http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/ and the government will tell you how much you will have to pay for the "priveledge" of using the roads
  16. Having seen the photographic evidence I can confirm that he was "shaken not stirred"
  17. Nick, any luck with getting your photos online yet?
  18. Hi Si, The spring hasn't rotated on the seat has it? this may have put the closed coils where the hook grabs it and cause it to miss?
  19. We had a small electrical fire before we even got to the first site, got everything sorted by lunch time and had a good afternoon. then on the way home the throttle cable snapped, no problem we thought. But unfortunately the cambelt came out in sympathy a couple of miles later. got it all sorted by sunday lunch but decidied it was too late to be worth coming bakk. When we found out we'd been 12th overnight we were gutted but still got 25th at the end, roll on ultimate challenge in march!!
  20. Many thanks to everyone involed in organising the event, Phil and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, We seemed to spend most of the time doing running repairs but still managed to find time to get stuck in the lake. Certainly hope to do more in the future.
  21. If it is the traditional parc ferme you are not allowed to work on the vehicles during this time, whether this will include re-fuelling I don't know. There may be a time allowance for tinkering after the event stops on saturday, guess we will find out when we get there!
  22. I would take Park Ferme to mean that any work carried out (ie. repairs) has to be carried out in event time not overnight?
  23. Fitted winch isolators yesterday, already done front cv's, just leaves engine isolator, rear shock mounts, stowage, spare wheel mount & new rear winch cable Planning to head up friday morning, should get there about midday.
