  1. Was having breakfeast at Macdonalds this morning (same sh*t differant country :D ) and reading the Aus paper and they had an arctile on the top gear trip and said that the BBc got alot of Sh8t from Green peace and all the tree huggers about the show and how bad it was that they were to drive up to the north pole. They asked BBC not to show the show but they went ahead anyway. Also the tree huggers were also going on about 4x4's again

The article was not about the show but more about the carp the BBC was getting from the tree huggers and how unfair it was :)

I expected there to be a similar kind of review in the press over here. I haven't seen much though. Rather surprising.

  2. Hello Divister,

    Dried out yet?

Been the toilet lately?, I dare'nt in case I get pushed around and bullied while i'm in there, me Mum used to tell me watch out for strange men when I'm in the toilet but she never mentioned "driving Landrovers".

Oi.... I've managed to keep that quiet so far :lol::lol:

  3. The first failed by oil starvation to the bearings and it chewed the vanes up, and wobbled all over the place.

When I purchase my D2 at 96k it had just had a turbo replacement because of this very fault. I'm now at 126k and there's no sign (he says looking for wood to touch) of any further problems

  4. I just wondered who has done the vented conversion using the spacer kit.

I bought a kit recently from Autopost, But have had some problems (I'm not going to say anything bad about them right now, I'm waiting to see if they come good on support)

But i would be interested if anyone else has used their kit & what they found.

    Paul

I used their kit to do a conversion on my old 90 (Now owned by Holyzeus). I had no real issues with the kit, it was well made and a good fit. The only problem I had was they only supplied two seals, expecting you to re-use two.

  5. In March I placed an order for a 110 for my rescue team through the Land Rover Business Centre in order to qualify for a quite substantial discount.

I was advised that the vehicle was due for delivery to my local main dealer by late June/ Early July. I had heard nothing by the beginning of the week so I chased the business centre. I was advised that the vehicle had definately been delivered to the main dealer concerned. When I contacted the dealer is met with confusion and a barrage of questions. The dealer claims to have never seen sight of either the order or the vehicle.:blink: Land Rover Business Centre claim that the vehicle has definately been delivered and is now trying to get a P.O.D.

I'm quite glad we haven't given LR any of our hard earn't cash yet.

Anyone got a 110 CSW hiding under their bed???:lol:

  6. I went for reversed disco rims too:

I've been really please with them. The main ar*e ache is grinding the welds out of the centres before removing them. I think I spent around half an hour on each one.

If you do a search there's quite a good thread describing the techniques that a few of us have used.

  7. I'm looking into the provision of a full external cage to a 110 station wagon for a future project  . After trawling through several manufacturers web site's I can't seem to find any kind of indication of weight it'd add to the vehicle. Has anyone got any kind of ball park figures???

  8. Hi .Does anyone know of somewhere in Derbyshire that sells the component parts for cages? I am making a cage for my series 2a project and just need to buy the front section that goes arround the windscreen and down to the chassis. I have made the rear section but on the last bend on the front section my bender cracked the former ( that'll teach me to use carp benders).

    Thanks in advance

You could try Tornado Motorsport they'll probably do what you want.

I've not used them myself but others on the forum recommend them.

  9. I got my caliper spacers from Autopost but I cant seem to find them on their website. IIRC they were around the £60 mark. This included the four shims and longer bolts. I completely overhauled the calipers when fitting the spacers which included fitting new seals between the shims and the calipers. Unfortunately I can't remember where I got these seals from.
