  1. Tony, it really amazes me just how selfish and down right dangerous some peoples actions can be, but as you say, that was back in the 80's, so nothing really changes !! makes you wonder just what the world is comeing to !!! Paul
  2. Thanks Western and Paul, i will be sorting somthing out asap Paul
  3. Yes you could be right about the kids, but i always check fluids and without fail i check tyre pressures and wheel nuts every sunday, these were taken sunday night, early monday. And as for wheel nuts, yes two loose does seem strange but they were undone, they were not even finger tight but unscrewed so about two threads were inside nut, i never loosened my nuts but checked with a torque wrench that they were tight and i have done cos of the amont of thread that is flush with wolf rims !! Western, do you know if it would be ok just to replace one stud out of five on all four hubs so as to fit a locking wheel nut ?? Bit of a cheat but cheaper and well worth it seeing as to the value and hassle of repaceing stolen wheels ??? sorry for the rambling but its really pi44ed me off !!! paul
  4. + Mine were not exactly anti theft but they needed a ten mm spanner to undo them, not anti theft i know but also imo not an opportunist thief either, how many people have a 10mm spanner and a landrover wheelbrace in there pocket, ok i do but (A) im not a thief and (B) i need them if i need to change my wheels. I did go to main dealer today to see about locking wheel nuts but my studs are not long enough and landrover say that i have the long studs as fitted to 130's Paul
  5. Thats exactly my concern Sean, its only wolf rims but they MY wolf rims, been to landrover today about locking wheelnuts but due to stud length there is no stud left to fit them and as my studs have a slot in the end Landrover main dealer say that ive got the long studs as fitted to 130 defenders, im still not sure as i have seen defenders with more stud showing, my nuts are flush with end of stud. In there compound they actually had a 130 on wolf rims and they were flush like mine. Paul
  6. Not if you cut a hole in the bonnet and have a vinyl wheel cover only over the hole lol, should be soft enough to give and will give the room for clearence !!! Paul (im joking of course)
  7. Not wishing to start something but if ive read your link correctly then the information in it is of a purely personal opinion and i too believe the true reason is due to the puma engine being taller and not to give a pedestrian a landing area. Paul
  8. Since writing this i have discovered that the two remaining valve caps on the road wheels have been stolen !!! the valve cap on the spare has been loosened, whoever did this must have had the correct size spanner AND the bast**d loosened two of my wheel nuts, Police informed with the usual "well sir if you get any more information etc etc". This is some one that knows landrovers im sure due to the wheelnuts, i check them every sunday (yesterday) without fail, so not only is this theft bloody annoying but some one is putting my life in danger. All i hope is its not being eyed up by some one that wants to steal it. Paul
  9. Hello all, Feel i need to rant about the ar5eh0l3s that felt it appropriate to steal two of my valve caps of my defender !! This was no opportunist but some little tw&t that was clearly "going equiped", About to report it to police, you never know they may have stopped someone with two bright yellow valve caps in there possesion along with the correct size spanner but im sure that along with a crime number and leaflet from victim support that will be the end of it !!! I do wish bad things on all who feel it ok to steal!!!!! thanks for listening Paul
  10. due to the over whelming response, lol i phoned landrover and they said that there is no difference between the 90 and 110 downpipe. Paul
  11. Afternoon, Could anyone tell me if there is a difference between the exhaust downpipe, the bit off of the manifold, between the 90 model and the 110 ?? or are they the same ?? the vehicle is a 110 td5. Many thanks Paul
  12. As near as damn it is to swearing i'd say that was a foot !!!!
  13. Well, NFU got back to me today and price is £638.00 , about what my other quotes are, cheapest so far are SWIFTCOVER,£225.00, cover for cover NFU win hands down but price wise is another story !!!! Paul
  14. I agree !! All these companies including the so called specialist landrover insurers are takin the pi$$ !!! Like i said previously, NFU dont give a monkeys about insuring me cos i got more than 7 seats !! that to me is a joke, It is not only NFU, most of the companies are the same be it direct line, tesco or any of the others, I dont see it as "slagging off" a particular company but sharing experiences of these companies. If one company is mentioned more than the others then maybe that company should take a look at itself. Costs are rising and be it for what ever reason, we still have to pay it so basicly we are all here as a captive market. Paul
  15. maybe the cb is for the go cart !!! lol Paul
  16. Cant find anything in haynes manual but a google search reveals that its anywhere between 7 litres and 13 !!!! that aint much help probably, sorry Paul
  17. Dont transmit without an ariel , you will burn it out, Its safe to turn on just to see if it powers up but DONT EVEN TRY TO TRANSMIT WITHOUT AN ARIEL !!!!!!! Paul
  18. i was with NFU a few years back, but that dont count for anything and lady told me that all premiums have risen by 40%, I just cant understand how they are unsure as to there OWN policy on insuring vehicles with more than 7 seats !! it really is laughable when they are meant to be the farmers friend and most (not all i know)farmers drive a landrover yet im trying to explain that mine is a csw with 5 doors and its not a panel type van !!!!! Paul
  19. I tried NFU yesterday, and i get the feeling they really dont care, got passed to my local office as they "dont really insure vehicles with more than 7 seats" NFU meant to be ringing me back monday, i shant hold my breath. Paul
  20. Sureterm last year, £179, this year £445.93 !!!!! As to where they can stick it, answers on a postcard please !!!!!!
  21. Thanks Western, when i replace my bushes i too will be converting to plus gas !! Paul
  22. Whats wrong with wd40 Western ? I have always used wd40, is plus gas better ? Cheers Paul
  23. maybe the lions get distracted by the sh*tpart bits falling off as you make yer escape ?? Paul
  24. maybe sheilaghs wheels have taken over the G4 challenge ?? Paul
  25. go for genuine, i bought sh*tpart from main dealer and they had more play in them than the hinges i was replacing !! took them back and parts chap never batted an eye lid, I know they are expensive but its well worth it in my opinion. Paul
