  1. good evening all, yesterday i went to my defender to find a puddle of diesel underneath the fuel filter, went out and bought a bosch filter to replace one that was leaking ( old filter showed no obvious fault), ive now swapped filter and all seems fine. two queries, (1) do filters "just" leak for no apparent reason ? it was genuine part and (2) it appears to be missing water senser trap wiring, the wiring landrover side is there but part from plug to filter is missing, do i need it ?? filter was changed by main dealer bout 8 months ago and they never mentioned anything which is unusual as they point out anything to bump bill up. any experience gratefully recieved Paul
  2. our thoughts are with family and friends im sure. very sad news
  3. on my insurance i just pay the excess, weather its stone chip repair or replacement, and it dont count as a claim, worth checking your insurance tho as glass cover may or may not be included and if it is the excess due. paul

  10. trouble is as we know they are desirable vehicles, pikeys or any other thieving scum dont care about the heartbreak and financial losses involved, doubt its been nicked by a crack head so you can take some comfort that your pride and joy is not some low lifes fix. sorry to hear and i have said this only last night to a guy local to me (daz224) i think, we must all be vigilant and REPORT anything suspicious and PLEASE PLEASE take steps to make it as hard as possible to steal.

  17. when i replaced mine they came with springs and shims, when i asked for advice at my main dealer i found that whoever had fitted mine before left out the shims AND anti rattle springs, bought axle set of pads and fitted them and all sorted now, i was after the anti rattle springs as that was most obvious as a visual inspection of what was missing but they only come as part of the kit and as pads already fitted were non genuine i swapped them over and all is quiet now
  18. i had same problem, i went to main dealer for advice and they were brill, got axle set of pads with springs and it cured it instantly. tbh, i would always buy genuine parts for brakes and they are not that expensive. Paul
  19. just fitted a winch bumper to my 110 td5 and it seems fine to me, as long as its structually sound then i would not see any problems
