Hi all, Does anyone know the legal status off driving a defender WITHOUT the front bumper ?? I know its not ideal but i will be without it for a few days and so dont want to fall foul of the law. Cheers Paul

May i mention Td5 fuel pumps, AND td5 oil filter, right next to hot exhaust, i got scars from me oil changes !!!!! Paul

with regard fog lamps, when your on main bean you should not be using fogs and they should go out with main beam on. Paul

I hope ive found the problem, Ive changed the fuel filter BUT now damn thing wont purge !!! Is it me fuel pump ? it makes no noise at all so am i looking at new pump or is there a fuse (to simple i know) or would it be ecu not giving the proper signal ?? this is the first real problem in my two years with her but its takin its toll on our relationship, Any advice will be gratefully recieved Paul

Hi Tanuki, Do you mean the noise as if its priming the fuel filter ? either way its silent, its got new genuine filter that was fitted last week when i serviced her, it whizzed and gurggled then but is silent now even with engine running Paul

Hi Porny, funnily enough i checked that at same time i did the loom and its ok (i think) Just really curious as to what the red liquid is, my only conclusion is dye out of red plug ???? oh an the bloody missfire, it has started to behave a bit better but foot down and it pops like a barsteward !! have you fitted it in front or behind (engine side) of rad ? Paul

Well, ive cleaned it and cleaned and its still missing, What is strange is the "oil" in the loom has a red tinge to it , similar to ATF fluid, And when it does miss there is a smell thats best described as a cross between creosote and LPG !! Any thoughts ?? piddling me off now !!! Paul

Is the eye breaking away just a terrafirma big bore problem, seen the same on another forum, im thinking about terrafirmma's but not big bore, do they suffer as well ?? Paul

Thanks Jason, its not long had fuel regulater, and its on clean filters and oil as i serviced her at the weekend, she developed missfire on sunday, I think im just gonna have to keep cleaning loom and red plug, saturday she ran, as always sweet, then started to miss in 3rd gear so i thought i was doing right and nippin it in the bud, by changing injector loom, If it gets actually into ECU is that d-i-y-able to take apart and clean ?? i seem to remember thread on here but cant find it. thanks Jason
