Sorry Marc. No luck yet. I've spoken to Flat dog twice over the last couple of months asking for some pics or instructions from their fitters. They are very helpfull on the phone but I've had no contact yet. There seems to be a lack of communication between office and shop floor as is usually the case.

Thanks guys, sorted For some reason I could tighten them up this time even tho when fitted they were as tight as I could get them. Just got to change x2 rear shocks, x2 track rod ends, the windscreen, sort headlight alignement, replace number plate bulb and remove the sat nav for the mot

Update. Car went in for mot. Failed . These bloody wheel hubs are doing my head in. Failed on wheel bearings ???? I've replaced the hub, stub axle, swivel ball, all bearings and seals, discs and cv joint. The only original part is the outer of the swivel housing. I cant get the bearings to tighten enough ???? I thought I had cured it by putting extra washers on before the hub nuts but obviously not. Please help guys. What am I doing wrong ? All the races are in fully and everything is new ? Have I missed something or do I just need to use more spacers ? I refitted everything one piece at a time to check and it all looks ok.

Thought everything was ok but........ Drove around today with the windows down and I've got an occasional clunk coming from that wheel . I thought I had felt something but put it down to paranoia. I'm guessing cv joint ????? Does the whole shaft assembly have to be replaced ?

Seat belts. Gonna have to find somewhere else to fit them. Or change the seats for ones with 3 point harnesses. Or lap belts.

I still like the idea of taking the doors of the disco in the summer, al la jeep style . Anybody now of a legal reason why you cant ? We used to drive around with the doors open on the old sherpa van all the time

THATS IT !! Thats exactly what I had in mind . Just because its been done doesnt mean it shouldnt be done again. I want to do it even more now . I wonder if i'll need to strengthen around the windscreen ? Those look standard. The wife is taking some convincing. Perhaps these pics will help. Thanks Fozsug

If I do the disco then the doors will be removed. If I do the p38 then I'll leave the doors and just remove the door tops Like this, bad job I know I wanted to leave the seats in

Another idea ! I've got a p38 4.6 that would be ideal I could remove the doors and roof and just keep the lower tailgate. It would be a sort of open top beach buggy pick up hybrid !!! I'm on a roll

I've had a bit of an idea that I want to run past you guys . I'm thinking of chopping the roof off my disco and removing all the doors !!!!! I'll keep the windscreen and run bars from the top corners of the screen curving back to the rear quarters. What you think ? . Whats the ruling with removing the doors ??? If anybody is a dab hand with photoshop on here perhaps they could have a mashup and we can see what it would look like I know I could just get a defender soft top but where would the fun be in that ? What you think ? Keep it friendly

My first stop would be to grease and lube all the locks especially the drivers side. Sounds to me as tho youve got a stiff lock that the motors are struggling to work. Just a thought.

I've just been out to check the timing on my 3.9 v8 disco and I cant find the timing marks ??? Can somebody point me in the right direction please. Haynes doesnt show where it is and rave says nothing on the subject either. I've removed the top of the fan shround and been underneath

Hi guys. This should be a nice easy one for somebody . When I first start the truck it surges for a while before settling down. For the first couple of minutes if I blip the throttle it'll cut out and be an absolute bmgnhjyrot to get started again. If I leave it for a bit to tick over its fine. It's not a cataclismick problem I admit but I would like to get her spot on mechanically . Any help much appreciated.

Thanks guys. I've looked at these and I've got the instructions but they dont tell you how to cut the rear arch out. The back seems easy enough but the door and where the door seal touches the arcg at the door opening isnt explained. If I cut the door where its marked then I'm cutting the door seal out. If i cut the arch behind the door it looks as tho there will be a big gap betwwen the door and the car when the door is closed. I'll also be cutting really close to the door lock ??

Hi guys. Has anybody got pictures/instructions on how to fit extended arches to a 5 door discovery ? I've done the fronts but cant for the life of me figure out how to cut the rears out. Just a picture of the rears already fitted might give me an idea.

Hi guy's. I thought I'd already just posted this but I cant find it so if I'm doubling up, sorry. I've got a very stiff lever action on my auto box.. The sunroof was leaking straight onto the lever so I'm guessing this caused it. I removed the top cover but all I can see is more plastic. Do I have to remove the whole console to get to the gubbings to get some wd40 in there ? Dont know if I could face that after having the dash out of my p38 3 times
